Dear John
Dear John, first, let me put your mind at rest regarding the act that I've read your message, and I will look deeper into the many facts you comment as soon as I possibly can. I always, always try and Assume Good Faith on everyone's part, and never take position lightly; so if you allow me, I'll try and address this matter with the care it demands, and talk to Andersmusician myself in order to search for a solution, k? I'm a little short of time right now, but i wanted to drop you a line, and tell you to relx, and try not to stress yourself over this; having witnessed terrible disputes, trust me - this can be solved easily, with a little good will.
Thank you so much for your kind words regarding the protection of Macchu Picchu, and for my userpage layout - please, feel free to adapt it at will to your own (tho I see you have already adapted the one I made for Jossi - yes, I made that one too! ;)
I look forward to read more on the authors you have linked me too. I've had the chance to read a little of Mario Vargas Llosa, and I find the Culture of your beautiful country fascinating. Have a beautiful day! :) Love, Phaedriel - 00:18, 18 July 2007 (UTC)
Clarification
I would like some clarification why you labeled my edit as unrelated, when it was clearly an on topic link, that had been on this page for a very long time and why you called this vandalism, when I clearly added a on topic page. I had also put it up for discussion, but I haven't seen a response over there, only the deletion and warning. Waiting for some details on my talk page. Agunther (talk)
- I did clarified Agunther at the same day, about what is my understanding of advertising at his talk page, also I request assistance to further clarified the issue of if in fact his link were an advertising site of not. User Miranda kindly answered it by confirming the fact that the page was an advertising and for this could not be linked in any page. This is save for further examination or curatorial purposes. Little context in List of Peruvian poets
Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on List of Peruvian poets, by LaNicoya (talk · contribs), another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because List of Peruvian poets is very short providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles.
To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting List of Peruvian poets, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. --Android Mouse Bot 2 20:57, 2 August 2007 (UTC)

Blooms Taxonomy
Hi John
Hope you can assist me. We are looking at using the image on Bloom's Taxonomy that you have posted on this site in an educational textbook we are due to publish later this year. I want to find out if this is your own illustration and if we wanted to draw something similar would it be okay?
Also, where did you get the basis for this diagram as I see there are alot of sites with regards to Bloom and his work and just not sure who can grant me permission to use his work in the form of an illustration?
Looking forward to hearing from you

- ► Michelle or user with IP 196.207.40.212: Due to the history of this IP I needed to answer in here, hope it makes sense to you.
- ►As you are representing a group, I would like to receive a formal communication with you, meaning type of organization, or A verifiable User IDs.
- ►Perhaps, you would like to know about the many years of serious academic research and practicum that I have devoted in the field of learning and teaching at higher educational settings in USA and Abroad.
- ►Knowledge is accumulative and shareable, as for Art is highly interpretative. The illustration is licensed under Creative Commons Attribution 2.5 License which in short: "you are free to distribute and modify the file as long as you attribute its author(s) or licensor(s)."
- ╚☻╝ I will also encourage to make your own page at Wikipedia and create a User ID for you or your group or both.
- ◄ However, I would respect your decision to remain anonymous, only I don't see why you want to do something like that if you are into education, it is plausible and you are entitled, so continue...
- ►Anyway if you are finally going to use this work, I would like just to let me know about it.
- ╔☺╝Now, If you are here with/for other intentions other than to support Wikipedia, knowledge or learning, then I invite you to use your time and energy in other social endeavors. It is an invitation, it is not an imposition, but nevertheless I am suggesting it clearly.
- ►OK With my good faith and will, I wish you Good Luck, and I am looking forward to read your educational book.
PD. I presently very busy, I'll will be in an out of Wikipedia, as I am working in many projects, however, I am incorporating some ideas about education, Learning Objects, that are geared to be dynamically and illustrative in nature. Early next year I think, many of which I will license under Creative Commons and posted in Wikipedia or Wikiversity. Thank you and I hope I have assisted you, Sincerely ◙JMK◙ (talk) 16:30, 19 May 2008 (UTC)

Question about one of your graphics
Dear Mr. Manuel, I recently stumbled upon your illustration in the english Wikipedia article on information security (http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/f/fe/Information_security_components_JMK.png) and would really like to use an adapted version of it in my diploma thesis. Because I have to be very exact about my sources I would like to ask you if you thought up this way of illustrating the topic yourself, or if it is based on a theory / paper / book I haven't found yet. Please don't get me wrong, I sincerelly do not want do accuse you of copying someones ideas, I just have to be very thorough with my source references.
I am no wikipedian, so I cannot sign this with a user name. However, I will leave my name and mail adress as a means of contact.
yours, sincerelly
Hans Henning (hans.henning@gmx.net) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 217.186.207.124 (talk) 11:19, 26 August 2008 (UTC)
- Dear Mr. Hans Hanning,
- Hope you catch my answer here, since I usually do not answer to "IPs" by email as a way to inviting more people to join Wikipedia and to become active members or a least signed members of the community, it is free and it is altogether not a bad idea for a Student at the master level, therefore I am inviting you to sign and create an account. You will find some time not only to read but to contribute with Wikipedia from time to time. It is not a bad habit really.
- About your question: the illustration, come from many books, I created while doing my Masters in Information Systems Security [ISS or just Information Security - IS] some years ago. I read voraciously for my papers, as you may know by now, how demanding it is to write a thesis. Therefore, yes the illustration came from my mind but is based on a extensive research of many years, tears and sweat.
- I remember that at the time I could not find a definition and a illustration that would make me remember the most important aspects of IS, specially for my own understanding, do you get it? I needed to write papers and papers and so I was happy with the illustration that I drew first in a piece of paper. My Professors were very happy with it as I have inserted it in at least two term papers, having cited all my sources and enunciated that illustration as the product of my synthesis based on this or that author. As any scholar needs to do to substantiate every statement and finding, he claims or writes about it. As far, the history goes some professors and students asked me to use the Illustration for their presentations I feel that I had contributed my grain of sand.
- After, I completed my studies I realized Wikipedia was on and I decided to contribute some of my research to Wikipedia. I have written more 100 papers on the subject, some papers have been published. I am planning to improve many of the illustrations, diagrams and definitions, that I have done, I am assure you the illustrations, and other diagrams are not just about my masters thesis or other academic studies, as a painter I am very interested in illustrating things that I don’t understand and so I want to grasp the real and the ideal somenhow with an image. However, do not get me wrong either, I am far from being original, I am just a person that reads a lot, have some creativity and enthusiasm and who has enjoyed the work that have clearly and academically been accepted by the Institutionalized authorities , then I have just perhaps synthesized what Information Security is a little bit more that's all. Therefore, [you] do not loose your time because you will not find that illustration other that in Wikipedia, and as far as I know those term papers that I submitted are safe in one of my professor’s office shelves and in one of my computers. Regardless the presentations, I do not know about them much only what I was told that they were for internal training or lecture purposes only. And, I have not posted or published it in any other place but only at/in deviantart.com.
- I am writing this explanation, because my respect to Wikipedia, scholarly knowledge and cultures in general. In addition, we need to remember those scholars that are contributing their talents and time to this noble idea of "building" the best encyclopedia that continues propel this community so magically well in the English version. I just pledge for more time, and energy to continue learning from others and sharing the little I know, and so, I am taking once more this opportunity to encourage you to become a wikipedian.
- In closing, thank you for your words, however, let me know what did happen with your master thesis, and if you want to insert or modify my illustrations just observe the licenses and the rights of the author that are stipulated rather clearly in/with all of them. Well, hope that I could know more about you, your work and successes; I wish I could assist you in a more effective way.
- Sincerely, I wish you the very best in your endeavors, John Manuel 02:51, 31 August 2008 (UTC)

CSS id change
I am planning to change the CSS ids used in MediaWiki:Revision-info and MediaWiki:Revision-info-current, to be in line with how we do for other such messages.
To make the transition smooth I will update the /monobook.css files for the six users that currently use those ids, thus you should not see any difference. You are one of those users.
After I have updated your /monobook.css you might need to bypass your browser cache to load the new version. (But for some minutes while I do the updates you will see the full versions of those MediaWiki messages instead of the "plain" versions.)
For more about this and if you want to answer or discuss this, see MediaWiki talk:Revision-info#CSS id change.

About the DOM figure and it´s use
Dear John,
I´m a Brazilian developer writing a book about Javascript and Ajax in Brasil, through Novatec Editors, who is a specialized company in IT books at São Paulo. I was looking for a best figure which could represent the DOM (Document Object Model), I find your image, through wikipedia.
For me, it´s perfect.
I´d like to know If I can have your permission to use in a comercial book. Of course, I will cite the reference and permission in the case you agree with my request.
Well, thank you in advance por the DOM discussion and contribution.
I will waiting for your answer.
Thank you in advance.
My best regards,

- Dear Vinicius :
Thank you for let me know about your intentions to use my diagram. I wish you the best for your publishing endeavors. From the point of view of my side, I don't see any problem for you to use the DOM diagram in your book, and so I grant you the necessary permissions for its use as stipulated in the licenses . Although, I believe that the licenses in which the diagram was released at Wikimedia Commons, in this specific case, allows and expresses already those permissions, incidentally, the permission for its commercial use. For any further information or assistance please do not hesitate to contact me, I would be glad to respond to you. Also, please, let me know about your book. I shall follow this message with an email with similar information. John Manuel ◙JMK◙ 13:42, 5 April 2009 (UTC)
