[edit]There's a link to the source present and the link also contains the copyright information. Is that enough? JohnHope91 (talk) 14:43, 8 January 2012 (UTC)
- It's enough to make it clear that the image violates the non-free content rules and needs to be deleted, but other than that, it's not good enough. The purpose of license tagging is to let people know the copyright status of an image simply by looking at its description page, rather than needing to run all over the Internet looking at websites that may or may not still be up. --Carnildo (talk) 23:14, 8 January 2012 (UTC)
- Is there anything I can do to solve this issue? JohnHope91 (talk) 21:48, 10 January 2012 (UTC)
- Since the subject of the picture is still alive, Wikipedia policy requires that any image of him be free content. You could try contacting him or the person who runs the website and request an image be released under a free-content license (see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission#How to ask for permission), or you could look on websites such as Flickr for existing images that are already under a free license (but be careful: people on those websites sometimes falsely claim that an image is free when it isn't). --Carnildo (talk) 03:09, 11 January 2012 (UTC)
- Thank you, I'll give it a go. JohnHope91 (talk) 15:23, 11 January 2012 (UTC)
