Sailing Analytics

[edit]

Johannes,

https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Marcus_Baur explicitly references the SAP Sailing Analytics. Meanwhile, the article draft I wrote has been deleted. I failed to make a backup copy. Chances are, SAP will publish the project as open source under an Apache 2.0 license anytime soon. I still haven't understood why we couldn't agree on steps that would have allowed Wikipedia to talk about the project.

Hello Axel! Now, keeping things simple; Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, i.e., a collective body of work that contains what is believed to be established knowledge. As such a work, Wikipedia recounts, re-narrates, and summarises the contents of sources suitable to establish knowledge – reliable, secondary sources intellectually independent of the subject – if these sources sufficiently discuss the subject. A lack of sources fulfilling these criteria is indicative of a lack of notability. The mere existence of a subject does not suffice for Wikipedia. I can recall that the sources your draft cited were, unfortunately, mediocre at best if not close to being uncitable. None of the sources seemed to discuss the subject at all, and the footnotes were rather decorative tha supporting. If you seek to further improve upon your draft, I suggest you try WP:REFUNDING it. Best regards, --Johannes (Talk) (Contribs) (Articles) 08:27, 30 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Community Co-operatives in the Highlands and Islands of Scotland: reliable sourcing

[edit]

Johannes,

Thank you for taking the time to review this article.

As you can see the draft has been rejected for different reasons, and these have been addressed. In this case could you help the contributors to get it right by saying what would constitute reliable sources? The article already includes material from:

  • academic institutions: Glasgow, Cranfield, Wageningen, Journal of Rural Co-operation
  • government bodies: H&I Development Board, Scottish Enterprise
  • respected media: BBC, West Highland Free Press, Co-operative News

It would be very helpful to be able to further improve this draft.TobyJ (talk) 17:26, 17 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
