Valery Sanou

Prod removed as per summary comment. Nfitz (talk) 03:29, 7 July 2009 (UTC)

Fair enough. I mistakenly thought he played in the Thai second level. However, I did find a source which shows he played in the Thai Premier League during May 2009, and agree the prod is in error. Best regards. Jogurney (talk) 04:20, 7 July 2009 (UTC)

Maltese footballers

I see that you have added links to Jean Pierre Mifsud Triganza and Michael Galea. Do these refer to senior international matches or under-21s? I can't find any definite evidence that either player has played internationally at the senior level. Phil Bridger (talk) 21:19, 8 July 2009 (UTC)

I removed this prod - see edit summary ... e.g. [1]. Nfitz (talk) 01:59, 17 July 2009 (UTC)

  • Fair enough - not sure if it would/should pass ... but I was seeing too much that it seemed that an AfD was more appropriate than a prod. Nfitz (talk) 03:29, 21 July 2009 (UTC)

Can you review Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Supoj Wonghoi. I think the guy is legit ... is listed on the clubs website, etc. Nfitz (talk) 01:04, 19 July 2009 (UTC)

Template change

Hi Jogurney - I'm not sure why you changed the reference template on the José Carlos Tabares article? It was correctly tagged as 'BLPunsourced' as it has no references. You changed it to 'BLPsources' which states the article needs additional citations. As there are no references in the article, the BLPunsourced template is more accurate. Do you mind if I change it back? ponyo (talk) 16:36, 20 July 2009 (UTC)

External links are seperate from references. WP:EL, under important notes to remember, states "This guideline does not apply to inline citations or general references, which should appear in the "References" or "Notes" section.". External links should not be considered citations. To put it another way, an article can have four external links in the External links section that do not back up the information presented in the article in any way. They are not references to the included material, they are places to go to to find additional information. Having an External links section does not preclude a BLPunsourced tag from being included. ponyo (talk) 16:53, 20 July 2009 (UTC)
Hi again - I see that you've added a references section, so the point is moot now. Happy editing! Cheers, --ponyo (talk) 17:13, 20 July 2009 (UTC)
Ideally any references used to build an article should be noted with inline citations. That being said, there appears to be enough sources included to cover the scant material in this stub that I think you'd be safe in removing the BLPsources template. Cheers, ponyo (talk) 17:59, 20 July 2009 (UTC)

I have removed the {{prod}} tag from Youssef Barakat, which you proposed for deletion. I'm leaving this message here to notify you about it. If you still think the article should be deleted, please don't add the {{prod}} template back to the article. Instead, feel free to list it at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion. Thanks! Cynical (talk) 17:55, 20 July 2009 (UTC)

Re:Canysp

Hi! I do not mean it by his truth what you wrote! I am not English and I do not can unfortunately so much that I should understand everything. I'm sorry! If you would perform the act of correcting my mistake possibly it would be good, dared really not for me.--Canysp (talk) 06:58, 9 August 2009 (UTC)

Straw Poll

Hi, you were involved in the discussion at Talk:Ron Paul. A straw poll is currently being conducted to discern concensus. Soxwon (talk) 02:29, 10 August 2009 (UTC)

Hello, Jogurney. I've put forward another proposal in an attempt to resolve the content dispute at Ron Paul. Please take a look and let me know what you think. Thanks! Nick Graves (talk) 17:04, 12 August 2009 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (File:Al-Watani.png)

Thanks for uploading File:Al-Watani.png. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:26, 18 August 2009 (UTC)

I must have created that article a long time ago. I will let the PROD run its course. Bobo. 20:58, 24 August 2009 (UTC)

Hey i saw that you were bragging with I have cleaned up over 100 of Mario1987's articles (resulting in dozens of deletions) and that i create many football player stubs. I would like to say that i found many player articles created by you that have a one sentence prose and i would like to ask you in the friendlyest manner possible to stop criticising me until you solve your own problems. Mario1987 14:01, 26 August 2009 (UTC)

Don't worry and thanks for everything. Sorry if i offended you through my responses. Cheers and have a cookie. Mario1987 14:23, 26 August 2009 (UTC)
I just wanted to say that if there are anyone that can brag of cleaning up unreferenced footballers bios, it is Jogurney. He deserves a lot of cookies for his work. Rettetast (talk) 15:24, 26 August 2009 (UTC)

dePRODing of articles

Hello Jogurney, this is an automated message from SDPatrolBot to inform you the PROD templates you added to a number of articles were removed:

Please consider discussing your concerns with the relevant users before pursuing deletion further. Hello! I have replied on my talk page. Gorod nad volnoi Nevoi (talk) 21:32, 10 September 2009 (UTC)

Wait!

Noticed you are doing some more replacements but you are missing a / at the end of the replacement and the links don't work! Camw (talk) 01:40, 12 September 2009 (UTC)

You can fix them easily enough by creating a AWB list from your recent contributions and replacing http://guardian.touch-line.comstatscentre.asp with http://guardian.touch-line.com/statscentre.asp Camw (talk) 01:43, 12 September 2009 (UTC)
Thank you. Sorry about that. Jogurney (talk) 01:58, 12 September 2009 (UTC)
No problem, I think they are all fixed up now. There should only be 400odd of the other ones left to replace I think, so we've made good progress. They better not change the URL again though! Camw (talk) 02:49, 12 September 2009 (UTC)
Thank you for all your help with this. I would be completely lost. By the way, how do you filter the AWB list to just include "recent contributions". Since I don't know how, I'm currently sorting through the 9000+ articles I've ever edited. Jogurney (talk) 02:51, 12 September 2009 (UTC)
I searched by "User contribs (user defined number)" then when I clicked on search it prompted me for a number to return and I just searched on your last 300 contribs. I haven't worked out if it is possible to return more than 1000 search results, as there are about 1400 results listed with http://touchline.onthespot.co.uk/guardian - hopefully the search updates soon then it shouldn't be a problem. Camw (talk) 02:58, 12 September 2009 (UTC)
Ah. I understand now. I've only made about messed up 200 edits, so the last 300 should catch them all. To be safe, I'll search my last 500. Thank you again. Jogurney (talk) 03:01, 12 September 2009 (UTC)
I think I got all of them, but feel free to double check! Camw (talk) 03:02, 12 September 2009 (UTC)

No problem

Just as long as you provide a reason for opposing my PRODs and AfDs I won't be offended. I will continue to cleanup articles that might fail the notability guidelines. Spiderone 19:34, 18 September 2009 (UTC)

A tag has been placed on Alfonso Domínguez requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. JaGatalk 21:22, 24 September 2009 (UTC)

Giampietro Cicoria

Hi there. When I created the article, I used this site as a source - I am trying to find his profile again to show he meets ATHLETE, which I am positive he does. Are you still interestd in taking it to AfD? Oh, and you may have noticed that the other two players from SC Cham I created have been speedily deleted, I can see that they weren't notable so I tagged them using {{db-author}}. Darko Mavrak

I was away, but thanks however.--Latouffedisco (talk) 15:15, 12 October 2009 (UTC)

Hi. About the article, hmmmm..., I´ve already did some edits there, but I didn´t add any ext.sources. Let me see what can I find about him, and I´ll tell you about. FkpCascais (talk) 19:32, 23 October 2009 (UTC)

Hmmm, from what I see, there seems to be two Ivan Gavran´s. One older, Serb, this from the article, and another younger (at least he´s got short career, see here ). In the Worldfootball (Weltfussball) site there is a page about the Croat one, but it says that he is playing this season in Austria, here. Let me try to find more about the Serb player. FkpCascais (talk) 19:41, 23 October 2009 (UTC)
In Transfermarket, his page says he´s born in 1988, so they are definitelly two players. FkpCascais (talk) 19:46, 23 October 2009 (UTC)
Aha! Here is our Serb player. Yes, you´re right. Here says his career was quite different from what it said in his wiki page. But, it´s deffinitly this guy the article is about. For now, I think we keep the article about him, couse the Croat Ivan Gavran is just starting his career and didn´t even played in any pro league yet. I´ll try to find more about the serb Ivan and correct the information in his article. The FK Priština article puts him in the list of notable players, and I also remember him from the league resumes from that period. If my memory is good, he was quite a good striker... FkpCascais (talk) 19:56, 23 October 2009 (UTC)
It was User:Maleevafan that added the stats in the infobox, but he´s not been editing here since September 17. I could leave him a message to ask him to tell us where he found the info, since I´m having a hard time finding more about him. We basicaly just need the years and caps(goals) for the teams that his current club page says. FkpCascais (talk) 20:16, 23 October 2009 (UTC)

Ah, you think the years and first two stats were wright, someone just put the clubs wrong. FkpCascais (talk) 20:22, 23 October 2009 (UTC)

Sorry to bother you, but since you´re senior here, I need to ask you something. I have been doing many edits here where I add ext.sources to the missing ext.source taged articles. But, I have never been changing the tags. I touth someone else (senior) after cheking it would do it. Should I do it? FkpCascais (talk) 20:36, 23 October 2009 (UTC)
Many thanx for the explication. About him playing in Bulgaria, I did find some articles (I did google search:Ivan+Gavran+Varna) where it was his name listed in Spartak Varna´s 2nd League of Bulgaria players. His club page is probably right. FkpCascais (talk) 20:47, 23 October 2009 (UTC)
Some anonim added FC Karnten again. FkpCascais (talk) 22:07, 23 October 2009 (UTC)
It´s funny. We ended up almost returning the initial information, but we did actualised the page and added more info :) .
I was making some edits in his club, the FK Radnički Kragujevac page. The club changed name this summer. Can you move the page to the new name? The Lithuanian wikipedia already did it. It should be like in the official website: FK Šumadija Radnički 1923. I´m asking you because I don´t know how to insert diacritics in the new name... FkpCascais (talk) 22:25, 23 October 2009 (UTC)

I thank you. In the club website there hasn´t been wrote nothing about this merge, but I´ll try to update whatever possible in the page. FkpCascais (talk) 22:34, 23 October 2009 (UTC)

SC Cham players

Hey, the PRODs aren't a problem at all - I created a bunch of articles on SC Cham players over 18 months ago, when the team was playing at a highler-level and I thought they met WP:ATHLETE. However, on further investiagation they didn't, so I have speedied all the articles you have PRODded. Cheers, GiantSnowman 14:58, 29 October 2009 (UTC)

The fight

Hi mate,

I have not been able to edit much over recent months, family commitments. I have seen that you are still keeping up the fight against unsourced and inaccurate articles.

I thought that you would be interested to find out that our "friend" Mario1987 has beeen indefinately blocked for the 2nd time, I hope nobody is naive enough to unblock him again. One of his most prolific sockpuppets produced these incomplete and inaccurate biographies. I have fixed the Argentine ones, any chance you could add the rest to your obviously enormous to do list.

All the best. King of the North East 22:03, 1 November 2009 (UTC)

The article Nouhoum Koné has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Did not play a single game in a fully-professional league and therefore fails WP:ATHLETE

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the Proposed Deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The Speedy Deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and Articles for Deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Geregen2 (talk) 22:00, 12 November 2009 (UTC)

Notability of football matches

Hi, I noticed that you voted delete on the France - Ireland game, I voted keep here. I don't see any real WP:FOOTY criteria against this type of article, just an understandable fear of inadvertantly allowing a deluge of "contoversy articles" through precedent. Precedent shouldn't really be an issue because in my view precedent and maintaining the status-quo should be irrelevant on Wikipedia, but this is manifestly not the case.

I raise the issue because I always harboured the intention of creating an article about the notorious Sporting Cristal - Boca Juniors game of 1971 where all but three players were sent off in the 89th minute for a mass on-pitch brawl involving every outfield player except Julio Meléndez Calderón, aththough it would certainly be impossible to source it as well as the current AfD article. I always thought that it would be far more noteworthy that the thrashing an amateur side by 30+ goals type articles in the football matches category.

I don't believe there is anything inherently wrong with one off match articles, although I believe the WP:FOOTY project should try to create some more clearly defined criteria to avoid this kind of AfD recurring endlessly. I would try to facilitate a consensus but my wasted efforts in bringing about WP:FOOTYN and my lack of free time make it unlikely.

Let me know your thoughts. King of the North East 02:56, 21 November 2009 (UTC)

Hi Jogurney, i just saw the prod on Andreas Papanastasiou, The non-professional angle seems fair, but how about the player representing the Cypriot U19 national team? I'd have thought (but i am by no means an expert) that this may have offered the player enough notability to have his own article - Many players in the Cypriot national team are semi-pro, but surely they would qualify as notable enough for an article. I know that this player has only represented the U19s, but could that make him notable enough? Cheers, Darigan (talk) 15:07, 30 November 2009 (UTC)

Hi Jogurney, thanks for your prompt reply. I'm afraid my mastery of the greek language extends no further than "Metaxa". I'm not going to challenge the prod. If the young man makes his senior international debut then i'm sure that somebody in the right position will put together a decent stub that can be worked on. Cheers, have fun editing, Darigan (talk) 15:21, 30 November 2009 (UTC)

Turkish Football Federation Page

Hi Jogurney, yes I completely agree about using the English version. I guess I tend to use the default Turkish as it is generally a bit more up-to-date, and gets updated quicker, but I will make sure I add the English version in future. Unreferenced footballers BLPs

You are doing a great work on these. I notice you working on the list almost every day. I am impressed. Thinking of updating the full list. Do you think the total has gone up or down? Rettetast (talk) 16:31, 3 December 2009 (UTC)

Since you say up, I am going to say down. My impression is that there is few new unreferenced articles created every day, and that the steady increase has to do with tagging of older articles. I hope that most is already tagged and we could have a small decline in the numbers. I'm starting know. It will take some hours. Rettetast (talk) 16:55, 3 December 2009 (UTC)
The results are in. 5919 unreferenced BLPs about footballers. Down 862 articles in one and a half month. Steady decline from July. Rettetast (talk) 18:24, 3 December 2009 (UTC)

Andrejs Siņicins‎

The only way that an article can be speedied under the criterion you used is if it's equivalent to the original and makes no attempts to rectify the reasons for which it was deleted. Since the AFD resulted in a "delete" because of a failure to satisfy WP:ATHLETE, and since the current article appears to me to satisfy the problems addressed at AFD, I don't think it warrants the speedy. Unreferenced BLPs

Hello Jogurney! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 3 of the articles that you created are tagged as Unreferenced Biographies of Living Persons. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to insure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. if you were to bring these articles up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 317 article backlog. Once the articles are adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the list:

I wasn't aware that Takayuki Toyomitsu had played in the Emperor's Cup (I can't verify it either), so if you have a reference, that would be very helpful.

Unsourced BLP

Having come across a few articles of this standard, that have no listing on Wikipedia:FOOTY/unreferenced_BLP due to the fact they exist outside the category structure, it strikes me that there must be hundreds, if not thousands more like it out there.

In this case I have asked the creator to improve their created articles but the lack of response to talkpage messages from this guy makes me think that if he doesn't understand the words "last warning" my request was probably a waste of time.King of the North East 21:12, 3 February 2010 (UTC)

Not a waste of time. I have blocked the user for one week. Rettetast (talk) 22:04, 3 February 2010 (UTC)

LINKS/REFS

Hi there JOGURNEY, VASCO from Portugal here,

Well, my views on that "material" are quite simple really, although i might be wrong in my approach...I always thought that REFERENCES were article newspapers with news on transfers, suspensions, injuries, so on, whereas EXTERNAL LINKS were simple site pages with stats and player profiles (regardless of sport).

That is why i always relocate when i see what looks like a REF to the LINK section. If you notice in Hugo Cunha, i kept your reference about his death as such, because it is an article that contains sentences, analysis, etc. I only relocated stuff with "merely" stats.

All in all, i am not the recipient of "wiki-truth", so hopefully we'll pull it together as a team. Thanks for your nice comments, keep up the good work as well.

Have a great weekend, VASCO - --Vasco Amaral (talk) 19:08, 5 February 2010 (UTC)

Interesting stat

Hi Jogurney. I have thought about this for a while. I took all the articles that have been listed on Wikipedia:WikiProject Football/Unreferenced BLPs/Full list (all revisions) and compared it with Category:Unreferenced BLPs. How many articles do you think have been unreferenced but aren't anymore? This includes deleted articles. Rettetast (talk) 20:20, 10 February 2010 (UTC)

8898 since 6 May 2009!
How are you categorizing the articles. On the basis of an external source or an on-wiki list. AWB might be good for such a job. Rettetast (talk) 21:07, 10 February 2010 (UTC)
Easier to do from an on-wiki list, but RSSSF should be possible also. Do you have a link? All we need is a list of players, and I can do the AWB part. Fo now you could look into WP:HOTCAT. It is an script that let you add categories easily. Rettetast (talk) 21:29, 10 February 2010 (UTC)

BLP sourcing

Just wanted to doff my cap to you for what you're achieving at User:The Wordsmith/BLP sourcing. Nice one! Gonzonoir (talk) 16:50, 12 February 2010 (UTC)

Congratulations!

Hi Jogurney. Hey, congratulations for sourcing Dino Đurbuzović page. I searched the entire web, and couldn´t find anything, so I ended giving up... Great work!!! FkpCascais (talk) 17:23, 12 February 2010 (UTC)

Many thanx for your kind words. :) Jogurney, I´m having some problems in one situation in the Miodrag Ješić page. One editor wants te remove the Serb.nat team site, and I don´t find his arguments reasonable. Since it has been only me who has responded to him in [[3]] in the Jesic section on bottom, some neutral intervention is needed I think. Could I ask you, or maybe you could recomend me someone, who could explain to the editor some issues he has doubts? I think you´ll easily understand what´s the issue by reading our discussion. Sorry to bother you with this. :) FkpCascais (talk) 23:15, 12 February 2010 (UTC)

Thank you

RE:My experience is very similar to Okip's. I haven't keep strict totals, but I suspect I've added references to three thousand-plus articles since I recognized the amount of unreferenced football player biographies back in November or December 2008. I've found plenty that were non-notables that I've PRODed (easily 100-200) or sent to AfD (maybe 25). A few that I thought were non-notable, actually were and another editor came in to provide sourcing (oops!). Out of this population of biographies, only a few had controversial statements (usually blatant vandalism like "John Doe is a ___er"). I think there were no more than 5-10 which had a plausible but unsourced negative statement (like claiming someone committed a crime or intentionally hurt another player). There were more hoaxes (more than 20 but less than 50) which were easy to invalidate. Overall, these unreferenced biographies about footballers were low quality, but not harmful to anyone.

WOW, what a testimony. Thank you so much for taking the time to comment. I appreciate you saying this. After reading the entire RFC, I think this is the most powerful statement I have read. Have a great holiday weekend. Okip (formerly Ikip) 23:47, 12 February 2010 (UTC)

Romania Liga II

Do we have any idea whether this level of football is fully pro? It is not mentioned on the list.

The reason I ask is the fact that I have uncovered a number of unreferenced BLPs who play at this level (such as Andrei Popescu). I'm happy to either PROD or find sources depending on whether they pass wp:athlete. Let me know if you know anything, if you don't know I'll probably try an AfD test case if you think that would be appropriate. Regards King of the North East 20:52, 14 February 2010 (UTC)

Any ideas why, for the most recent Mexican players I've removed from the list, that the history of my edits is not showing on the above page but only the specific category page for Mexico which I seem to be going into? Thanks Eldumpo (talk) 23:29, 16 February 2010 (UTC)

tagging articles as unreferenced

Thanks for your message. I think (in fact I hope) you'll find that where I have tagged articles as unreferenced they are in fact so. External links are not the same as references; citations should be in the article space so that I or other readers may see the source without having to actually leave Wikipedia and look it up myself. In addition, it is often the case that the external links themselves are not exactly reliable - this is very often true in articles about actors/films, musicians and sportspeople, where the sources are often written by the subjects themselves or by fans. If you notice I have got it wrong, please feel free to correct me, but do bear in mind the Wikipedia premise that "External links...(are)... for linking to websites with significant and reliable additional information on an article's topic" (see Wikipedia:Tutorial (Citing sources)) and are not a substitute for "reliable, third-party, published sources with a reputation for fact-checking and accuracy" (see Wikipedia:Verifiability). Emeraude (talk) 10:37, 18 February 2010 (UTC)

No, I don't think we fundamentally disagree. You are quite right that tagging for inline may be more appropriate in certain cases and I was grateful to Vegaswikian for putting me onto that - I honestly hadn't thought of it before. It remains the case, though, that many of the external links used as sources are simply not reliable enough to be used as references (Internet Movie Database for one!). Best wishes. Emeraude (talk) 13:51, 18 February 2010 (UTC)

No bother at all. Emeraude (talk) 14:01, 18 February 2010 (UTC)

BLP sourcing thanks

I would like to thank you for the incredible work you've done on my sourcing initiative. It has really been incredible, and soon i'm going to start creating an award to give to participants who meet their quota.

I would also like to suggest that you might wish to keep your log in your own userspace, like most participants seem to be doing, and just transclude it. As an example, see how I transclude mine as {{User:The Wordsmith/BLP log}}. Again, thanks for your work! The WordsmithCommunicate 00:59, 4 March 2010 (UTC)

BLP sticky PROD

Hi Jogurney/Archive2!. Every attempt to rescue a Wikipedia article is a noble gesture. However, there may be occasions when, with the best will in the world, it is just not possible to accord even a minimum of notability to an article or stub, or find a proper source for it. Most regrettably, even the most dedicated inclusionists will have to concede that the article may have to go if the creator or major contributors cannot justify their work.
For new and recent unsourced BLPs, some users are now working at WT:BLP PROD TPL on the development of templates that are designed to encourage contributors to source new BLPs, without scaring away the newbies who might not be aware of the rules. This template is certainly not another a licence to kill for the deletionists, in fact the very idea of it is to ensure that you are not fighting a losing battle. It would be great if you could look in at the prgogress and maybe leave a word of encouragement. The workshop page is essentially a template development taskforce, and is not a place to engage in a hefty debate on incusion/deletion policy. See you at WT:BLP PROD TPL?--Kudpung (talk) 12:37, 7 March 2010 (UTC)

Progress

Hi Jogurney/Archive2 ! The template workshop has now split off most of the long threads purely on policy to a new discussion page so that policy can be established while technical development of the template can continue in its own space. When the template functions are finalised, the policy bits can be merged into them. If you intend to to contribute your ideas to the development of the template or its policy of use, and we hope you will, please consider either adding your name to the list of workshop members, at WT:STICKY or joining in with the policy discussions on the new page. --Kudpung (talk) 06:41, 15 March 2010 (UTC)

Hi! The article is rather incomplete really unfortunately. But I was not able to save up more information for equal one! Then if I will have more information from him, I restart the article then. best regards!--Canysp (talk) 15:39, 15 March 2010 (UTC)

I complemented a couple of things, watch whether he burns.--Canysp (talk) 15:56, 15 March 2010 (UTC)

Hello Jo. Have a look at the recent edits/comments made by VascoAmaral to the above [5]. I assume I am in right in changing refs to in-line citations rather than External Link? Obviously my original input was purely to get an unref'd article off the BLP list. I haven't been on here that much lately but please note I am hoping to push back on with the BLP list. Regards Eldumpo (talk) 10:20, 20 March 2010 (UTC)

Removal of PROD from Blaise Bourgeois

Ndayi Kalenga/N'Dayi Kalenga

I'd suggest making a search for Ndayi Kalenga. There are two different footballers, born in 1967 and 1978, and they are often confused by various sources. In all likelyhood, part of the history for the current Msida St. Joseph player is incorrect, though it would require some extensive detective work to root out all errors... Thanks on BLP referencing

Thanks for the work you have done on adding sources to unreferenced BLP's. If your happy with the sources that you find and feel that it is appropriate to remove the template then please go ahead. I trust you'll make a good decision and have no need to even check further. Regards, SunCreator (talk) 21:48, 5 April 2010 (UTC)

Hi there JOGURNEY, VASCO here,

Regarding this message (http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/User_talk:Eldumpo#External_link_vs_Inline_citation) you sent to User:Eldumpo, i have to say the following: as i told you originally, i don't own the truth, at WP and in general, and was only trying to help.

I repeat my approach, which is questionable as the rest: i feel references should be articles from newspapers, website announcements, articles and match reports from UEFA/FIFA; links should be official player profile of given team, and one from the thousands of links you can find with stats (i tend to choose links from the country of the player in question).

What really baffled me was your comment to Dumpo "i have lost the desire to argue with him" - ??? If you have read my summaries, yes sometimes i exaggerate a bit on that part, but NEVER have i insulted another user in my summaries or talkpages (note, i said users, not vandals, those are not users), and you have only messaged me ONCE, i replied, and you do not wish to converse with me anymore? I really fail to understand that approach.

OK, no problem with that, as long as we both keep working to improve the site...

Keep up the good work, from Portugal, VASCO - --Vasco Amaral (talk) 22:04, 18 April 2010 (UTC)

  • Hey no problem man! No reason to apologize whatsoever (but i accept "it" :)). May you, me, ElDumpo and all good editors continue to work well in the future! VASCO - --Vasco Amaral (talk) 15:37, 19 April 2010 (UTC)

Template policy discussion

You are invited to help consider a common template policy for all WP:SPORTS biography articles at Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Sports#Template_policy_discussion.--TonyTheTiger (T/C/BIO/WP:CHICAGO/WP:FOUR) 22:56, 6 May 2010 (UTC)

The article Abdelaziz Ahanfouf has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

May be out of date and not notable

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Sock VANDAL

Hi there JOGURNEY, VASCO here,

Regarding your message to User:Satori Son about reversions of a banned user, please see my additions (here http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/User_talk:Satori_Son#Reversion_of_contributions_by_banned_user). I bet my life it is him, saying "talk to the hand". He has 30+ socks, he has (seemingly) unendless anon IPs, he removes REFS/LINKS, writes ZERO summaries, he engages in no talkpage conversations, turns club names into redirects (ex. S.L. Benfica is "re-written" SL Benfica), etc.

Adding insult to injury, an admin deletes an article he created, and what does he do? RE-CREATE IT!! This "person" deserves nothing but utter despise, and Satori did and excellent job i think.

Keep up the good work, be safe,

From Portugal - --Vasco Amaral (talk) 21:38, 24 May 2010 (UTC)

Thanks for adding more content to the article

I just want to make a little observation:

I think this:

Balázs Borbély (born 2 October 1979 in Dunajská Streda) is a Slovak football midfielder

is not the best phrasing because he is of Slovak nationality, but not necessarily of Slovak ethnicity, so maybe you should write:

Balázs Borbély (born 2 October 1979 in Dunajská Streda) is a Slovak football midfielder (link to Slovakia, not to Slovaks)

On the other hand, I want to inform you that User:Nmate keeps trying to insert unsourced data about an alleged Hungarian ethnicity. He bases his reasoning only on speculations: he claims that he has a Hungarian name and that his town of birth has a population of 80% Hungarians and only 20% Slovaks. So it is only an unreferenced personal speculation. Can you please explain him that the information must be verifiable and that he needs a source for his statement? Hi there. Just noticed you created the article for the French-Senegalese footballer Frédéric Mendy, i was wondering if you could confirm if he's the same player as the one who currently plays for Etoile FC in the S-League? Ahh Cheers mate. Thanks for clearing that up for me :) Nath1991 (talk) 13:53, 14 June 2010 (UTC)

You are now a Reviewer

Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, will be commencing a two-month trial at approximately 23:00, 2010 June 15 (UTC).

Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under flagged protection. Flagged protection is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial.

When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.

If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Courcelles (talk) 04:29, 16 June 2010 (UTC)
