License tagging for Image:Pendine.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Pendine.jpg. Wikipedia gets hundreds of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:

Image tagging for Rover.jpg
[edit]Image Tagging Rover.jpg
[edit]This media may be deleted.
|
Thanks for uploading Rover.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then there needs to be an argument why we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then it needs to be specified where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.
If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, consider reading fair use, and then use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other media, consider checking that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Mr. Lefty Talk to me! 15:24, 6 May 2006 (UTC)

Don't worry
[edit]Don't worry about those annoying people who keep removing those things - just revert them back but if a lot of changes have been made it is better to go to the older article and do a copy & paste thing to the current one. (PS this is Wjs13's home IP because sometimes I do not log in) Wjs13 00:15, 24 July 2007 (UTC)
- I would actually recommend not doing that, as it is bad advice. Please see WP:3RR and discuss what you would like to change on the talk page of each individual article. Let me know if you have any questions. --Daniel J. Leivick 00:24, 24 July 2007 (UTC)

Images
[edit]Hi, you've uploaded a lot of images that have been deleted. I just want to make sure that you understand copyright policy. You can't just find any image on the internet and license it as you like, even if you edit it. Unless you create the image yourself (ie you actually took the photograph) it's probably not allowed. Only images which are licensed under GFDL, Creative- Commons-Attribution or Creative-Commons-Attribution-Sharealike or public domain (which does NOT mean images that the public can see). There are very few images on the internet which are under these licenses (because people want the images to remain theirs). Wikipedia can not host the images or the Wikimedia Foundation will be open to lawsuits from the owners of the images. If you have any questions about this or even specific images please feel free to ask me on my talk page. Thanks, James086Talk | Email 09:43, 24 July 2007 (UTC)

London distances
[edit]Hi Joe,
sorry to be a pain but when you are adding the distance to London into infoboxes could you use mi as the abbreviation for miles as m is the abbreviation for meters. Also use a non-breaking space between the figures and the units as per the WP:MOS. Many thanks

This is pretty incomplete. What specifically is the guy doing? Is this important enough to be included?

Speedy deletion nomination of Chris Noon
[edit]A tag has been placed on Chris Noon, requesting that it be deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which articles can be deleted at any time, without discussion. If the page meets any of these strictly-defined criteria, then it may be soon be deleted by an administrator. The reasons it has been tagged are:
- It is an "attack page", and appears to be primarily intended to disparage or threaten its subject. This includes biographies of living people that are unsourced and entirely negative in tone. (See section G10 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) Please do not make statements attacking people or groups of people. Wikipedia has a strict policy against personal attacks; attack pages and images are not tolerated by Wikipedia and are speedily deleted. Users who continue to create or repost such pages and images will be blocked from editing Wikipedia.
- It appears to be about a person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), individual animal, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. (See section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) Such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. The article Noah's Ark Trust has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Non-notable charity. Made some brief local headlines when it went bankrupt and closed in 2011, but not enough coverage over time to satisfy WP:GNG.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. ♠PMC♠ (talk) 12:14, 3 February 2018 (UTC)
