I do not believe there is a conflict of interest. I am the chair of the department of economics at Iowa State University. Professor Harl was an emeritus faculty member in the department when I was hired. There is no particular benefit to me of submitting this entry, other than to provide a convenient source for those interested in Dr. Harl to access a variety of sources documenting his contributions to the Economics profession.

Thank you for this feedback. I am a bit puzzled, because you have repeated verbatim the comments I received on July 31. The article has changed considerably since then in ways that I believe were responsive to the initial feedback. As a result I am struggling to understand what specifically you are responding to.

First, I have tried to model the format of the contribution to be more like other biographies I have viewed in Wikipedia. The first (header) paragraph summarizes Harl's contributions, and then the balance of the entry touches on key points in his early life and intellectual contributions. Second I have added a number of what I would regard as reliable sources. See in particular, references 1, 2, 3, 6, 8, and 12.
