Disputed fair use rationale for File:Regnecentralen.jpg}
[edit]Thank you for uploading File:Regnecentralen.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this image under "fair use" may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the image description page and add or clarify the reason why the image qualifies for fair use. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check:
- That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's escription page for each article the image is used in.
- That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.
Please be aware that a fair use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for images used under the fair use policy require both a copyright tag and a fair use rationale.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it might be deleted by adminstrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. Hi, I notice that you had some interest in physics. Might I interest you in joining WikiProject Physics?Headbomb {ταλκκοντριβς – WP Physics} 06:51, 1 March 2009 (UTC)
- Thank You for Your offer. Unfortunately, my free time is rather limited, my English is rather humpy and my study of physics is fourty years old. Nevertheless I will watch WP:PHYS from time to time, perhaps I can streamline some articles with its German counterparts. Good evening --Jkbw (talk) 22:02, 25 March 2009 (UTC)
File:Hand-Operated Card Punch (ICT logo).jpg
[edit]Hello, and thank you for uploading File:Hand-Operated Card Punch (ICT logo).jpg and adding it to the International Computers and Tabulators article. Unfortunately it would appear that the usage of this picture is as a copy of the logo and therefore should have a fair-use rationale. In addition, the image should have the name of the company as the copyright owner, as it is specifically a picture of the logo rather than a picture of the card punch which happens incidentally to show the logo.

Ivan Stranski
[edit]Hi, what is the reasoning behind this edit? Best, Todor→Bozhinov 20:51, 19 July 2010 (UTC)
- Sorry, must have been something like a mental blackout. For a today's German a Baltic mother is not perceived as German at the very first glimpse. Stranski handled the German language with excellent skill as far as language nuances were concerned, but he pronounced it with a typical Slavic accent even after living 30 years in Germany (his students loved it). I guess his mother did not usually speak German to him.
Best regards --Jkbw (talk) 23:16, 19 July 2010 (UTC)
- Yes, it's very likely that she did not speak German to him, that would certainly explain the accent. Glad we cleared up the category issue though :) Best, Todor→Bozhinov 11:02, 20 July 2010 (UTC)

Notification: changes to "Mark my edits as minor by default" preference
[edit]Hello there. This is an automated message to tell you about the gradual phasing out of the preference entitled "Mark all edits minor by default", which you currently have (or very recently had) enabled.
On 13 March 2011, this preference was hidden from the user preferences screen as part of efforts to prevent its accidental misuse (consensus discussion). This had the effect of locking users in to their existing preference, which, in your case, was true
. To complete the process, your preference will automatically be changed to false
in the next few days. This does not require any intervention on your part and you will still be able to manually mark your edits as being 'minor'. The only thing that's changed is that you will no longer have them marked as minor by default.
For established users such as yourself there is a workaround available involving custom JavaScript. If you are familiar with the contents of WP:MINOR, and believe that it is still beneficial to the encyclopedia to have all your edits marked as such by default, then this discussion will give you the details you need to continue with this functionality indefinitely. If you have any problems, feel free to drop me a note.
Thank you for your understanding and happy editing :) Editing on behalf of User:Jarry1250, LivingBot (talk) 20:30, 14 March 2011 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free image File:Regnecentralen.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Regnecentralen.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Stefan2 (talk) 22:48, 29 October 2014 (UTC)
Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. April 2016
[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, articles should not be moved, as you did to Kollam temple fire, without good reason. They need to have a name that is both accurate and intuitive. Wikipedia has some guidelines in place to help with this. Generally, a page should only be moved to a new title if the current name doesn't follow these guidelines. Also, if a page move is being discussed, consensus needs to be reached before anybody moves the page. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Please don't move pages while good faith discussions are happening
[edit]I've moved Kollam temple fire back to the original name, since there is an active good faith discussion happening on the talk page. It would be appreciated if you participate there and refrain from moving the page in the meantime. Thanks. -- Fuzheado | Talk 02:48, 12 April 2016 (UTC)
