Katherine N. Anderson (American actress born December 11, 1922, San Francisco, California)

[edit]

Hello. I wanted to create an article for the actress above but I do not know if the actress is still alive or not. Maybe she is 98 years old and still alive but I do not know. Can you help me please. If you find something for her you can also create the article. I would to know something about her. Her birth name is Katherine N. Anderson. She is appeared in Tight Spot (1955) as Mrs. Willoughby, Guiding Light (1952) as Laura Grant #1, Queen Bee (1955) as Miss Breen etc. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Monaaa1 (talkcontribs) 16:19, 4 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I've had a look but couldn't find much. My personal opinion is she's not notable enough for her own Wikipedia article. Two supporting roles in non-major Hollywood films and the rest are minor credits. A search on Google, social media and Newspapers.com brings up little to no coverage or interest in her. Thanks --Jkaharper (talk) 18:48, 4 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Charmienne Harker (American actress born 1925)

[edit]

What about American actress Charmienne Harker, is she still alive? there is an obituary on google, but not for the American actress. She played a lot of movie and series. There is a picture of her on Imdb, as well as on google. she was born on May 13, 1925 in Denver, Colorado, USA. I wanted to create something for her but I wanted to consult with you first. Maybe she is 96 and safe and sound. I dont have any info of her spouse, it would be more easier. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Monaaa1 (talkcontribs) 10:29, 5 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

As per the birth records, the accurate year of birth for her is 1924. She's living in Palos Verdes, California as of 2021 under the name of Charmienne Harker Krauss. --Jkaharper (talk) 10:34, 5 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

3) Josephine Stuart (British actress born 1926) - In Google she result alive but in IMDb her daughter Anna Bowness-Park created a mini-biography for her mother when said "Josephine was a generous, kind, wonderful woman. A deep spiritual thinker and a courageous actress. She is greatly missed by her family" So missed it means dead. She lived in Cananda. She was married with John Ridley.

Armando Silvestre

[edit]

Can you please provide me the source of what you have mentioned? I am continuously redirected only to the website and not to that information you are posting. Greetings. TheBellaTwins1445 (talk) 17:58, 7 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @TheBellaTwins1445:, thanks for the message. I've kept both of the sources you added, and the full name you added because they are correct. However the July date is wrong. He was born in January (this source you added confirms that, and although we can't use Facebook as a citation, this post from his 93rd birthday in 2019 confirms he was born in late January). I appreciate not everybody has an Ancestry subscription, so I have uploaded Silvestre's border crossing card here. The card is from 1949, and confirms that he was born in San Diego, California but at the time of issue was a Mexican citizen residing in Tijuana. I hope this clears it up. I will try and make this clearer on the page itself! Thanks. --Jkaharper (talk) 21:38, 7 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Wow thanks for this clarification, this means then he is both Mexican-American, in any case both parents Mexicans and born in the US, he actually is the brother of Mr. Universo Eduardo Silvestre as stated here - [1] thank you for claryfying this, I would make the corresponding changes in the Spanish article. Can you help me, please?

[edit]

I want to create an article for English actress Josephine Stuart (born 1926). but I do not know how. I do not know if the actress is still alive or not as I have not found any obituary. Her daughter has expressed on IMDb in a mini biography that Josephine misses everyone, possibly dead ???. I know IMDb is not trusted but it was written by a person related to it. She was married to John Ridley, after his death she moved to her daughter in Canada. she has been married twice, her first husband was named Gérard Guillaumat where she has 1 daughter who wrote the biography. Can you help me, reply me please. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Fifkka (talkcontribs) 17:24, 10 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

According to the IMDb bio, she emigrated to Canada. The Canadian birth and death records are not easily accessible online in the same way that the UK, French and US ones are so it's impossible to tell. Her IMDb bio suggests she died a long time ago. I would not recommend creating a new Wiki page for somebody whose living/dead status is unknown. Thanks --Jkaharper (talk) 19:56, 10 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Marcy Mcguire (American actress born 1926)

[edit]

I just saw on your site an information about the actress Marcy McGuire, is it true that she died in August of this year. June Kenney ?? How did it become known that these actresses are dead, no news, no obituary ??? Very sad, what is happening ????? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Fifkka (talkcontribs) 15:14, 11 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

It happens. People die off radar. They were stars in their day, but their relevance today is next to zero, thus interest in them has waned so media don't always cover. Also, relatives don't always inform the media, or some of these older stars have few or no surviving direct relatives. There are lots of reasons why this happens. Not much you can do about it other than make peace with the reality of the situation. In the future their death records will become available online. --Jkaharper (talk) 11:37, 12 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Jeanette Miller (American actress born 1932)

[edit]

Is it true that actress Jeanette Miller died in 2016 because her name was on SAG-Aftra Summer at In Memoriam Section. Is she Jeanette or not, because there is no one other than her by that name. her last film was in 2012 according to IMDb. I do not know, can you help me to verify it ???? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 77.247.95.99 (talk) 12:17, 14 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I believe it’s her but there’s no proof to be certain. In the UK, you cannot have the same name as another actor if you’re a member of Equity. Maybe SAG has the same rules but if someone retires or changes their name, another actor can pick up that name. That’s why it’s impossible to know at this stage if it’s her. I am going to ask you again – stop adding death dates to biographies when we have no certain proof that they’re deceased. --Jkaharper (talk) 12:23, 14 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

How to remove a nomination for deletion, to save an article.

[edit]

Hello how can we remove a deletion nomination for an article and how to save for example the article Bunny Levine is for a real person, an American actress who is still alive and still performing in 2021 in film and series. Can you fix the article and to save from deletion, please. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mirandolinaa (talkcontribs) 14:23, 16 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Nevertheless, those dates are correct and will soon be demonstrated to be so. Deb (talk) 13:08, 20 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I agree with that, but that isn’t the point. It fails WP:RS. --Jkaharper (talk) 13:15, 20 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

It goes without saying that WP:RS is important; and that it is especially important to be absolutely certain before announcing someone's death. But as editors we are also told not to follow rules officiously or mechanically, but to consider the circumstances, and when appropriate to WP:IAR. I believe this is such a case.

In your edit summary you write to hold off "until a news source or obituary appears". But realistically, Carol was not a great celebrity; and she was a freelance, not an organisational employee. Realistically there is not going to be any organisational obituary for her; nor is an obituary likely in any of the national newspapers. It is not ideal, but social media is as good a source as we are likely to get for her death.

In my view it is not appropriate for her article to keep showing her as alive now she is dead. If indeed, as it seems, we do have to rely on social media, then reports from her local MP, from a close synagogue friend, and from her own sister are about as we could ask for. Carol's own last posts, saying that she had Covid, and then was being admitted to St Mary's, would seem to be acceptable per policy as a self-published source on herself, that is not making an exceptional claim nor unduly self-serving.

I appreciate that this is not ideal, and that WP:IAR is a last resort, and not something to be invoked lightly. But in this case the information sadly is solid, and giving the social media links, despite WP:RS, does seem appropriate, and the least-worst way forward.

Also, please leave the added categories in place and the corrected EL if editing the page again. Jheald (talk) 16:05, 27 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your message @Jheald:. I'm pretty sure a notice of her death will appear somewhere within the next week or two, even if she doesn't get a mainstream obituary (Telegraph, Times, Guardian etc.). Whilst WP:RS is definitely a guideline, which can be relaxed slightly, extending that relaxation out to Facebook and Twitter takes the biscuit a little bit. FTR, I don't necessarily agree with how strict WP:RS is, I'm simply adhering to its principles the best I can so my editing and reverts are consistent and by no means hypocritical or imbalanced from one BLP to the next. I will compromise on one thing – the age template can be removed from the infobox and she can be moved into the possibly living people category in the meantime whilst we await a source. You may wish to raise a ticket with admins about adding death information. Alternatively, you yourself can construct an obituary on ForeverMissed or MuchLoved for free and cite from that, depending on whether you wish to do so. On a separate note, I don't know how much of an interest you have in this subject but her page needs some serious attention. Too much unreferenced information and it reads like she, or someone close to her wrote it. The page may merit a conflict of interest template if it isn't resolved. A lot of the stuff is just trivial waffle and can be scrubbed off completely. Thanks --Jkaharper (talk) 16:18, 27 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Just curious...

[edit]

I've noticed before your tendency to change "X died, aged 85" to "X died, at the age of 85". Why? Is it a US style thing of which I'm unaware? It's certainly longer. Ghmyrtle (talk) 19:53, 30 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Random question! It just fills it out a bit more, don't you think? Particularly handy when the "death" section in an article is looking a bit bare. Also, it's more formal (at least as far as I've been taught). "at the age of 85" has a broadsheet obituary sound to it. "aged 85" sounds like tabloid language. The other reason is because it seems to be more common across more articles, so it's a matter of consistency. Thanks --Jkaharper (talk) 19:59, 30 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
