Hello Jimmy bly,
It seems to me that an article you worked on, DJQuintino, may be copied from http://www.djquintino.com/biography/. It's entirely possible that I made a mistake, but I wanted to let you know because Wikipedia is strict about copying from other sites.
It's important that you edit the article and rewrite it in your own words, unless you're absolutely certain nothing in it is copied. If you're not sure how to fix the problem or have any questions, there are people at the help desk who are happy to assist you.
Thank you for helping build a free encyclopedia! MadmanBot (talk) 15:26, 17 October 2012 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of DJQuintino
[edit]Hello Jimmy bly,
I wanted to let you know that I just tagged DJQuintino for deletion, because it seems to be inappropriate for a variety of reasons.
If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.
You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks, Writ Keeper ⚇♔ 15:27, 17 October 2012 (UTC)
Hi!
[edit]Hey, Jimmy, I saw that you removed the deletion tag after reworking the article. Thanks for that! Just for future reference, it's usually not allowed for people to take speedy deletion tags off of articles that they have created themselves. This time, though, I think you're okay, so don't worry about it!
However, I am still a bit concerned about the article itself. There are two reasons: first and foremost, it doesn't talk about why the subject is notable by Wikipedia standards. You see, notability is the minimum threshold that subjects must pass in order to warrant a Wikipedia article. You can read more about what notability for musicians means here, but at the absolute minimum, any subject must have significant coverage in multiple reliable sources that are independent of each other and the subject itself.
Also, although you've done a good first pass at eliminating the promotional language out of the article, there still is some left, and that's also a problem. Wikipedia's articles are meant to be written from a neutral point of view; saying things like "one of the leading DJs in the global music scene", "an excellent DJ across the globe", or "which have been just amazing" just don't fit the neutral tone required of an encyclopedic article. It sounds more like spam than anything else, to be honest. Keep in mind that Wikipedia is not meant to spread the word about people; it is only supposed to report the word that is already out, as determined in reliable sources.
Thanks for trying to improve Wikipedia, though! I may still have to nominate it for deletion, but don't worry: there will be plenty of time for you to improve the article to address these concerns before it actually is deleted. You'll have a chance to participate in the deletion discussion, too! And even if this article does end up getting deleted, don't worry about it! It happens all the time; nobody will hold it against you, as long as you learn from it. Wikipedia is tough to master, so don't be discouraged! If you have any questions, I'd be more than happy to answer them at my talk page; you can also ask the Teahouse, which is a great place for new users to get help in a friendly, relaxed environment. Happy editing! Writ Keeper ⚇♔ 15:57, 17 October 2012 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of DJQuintino
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on DJQuintino, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information.
If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. —teb728 t c 19:59, 17 October 2012 (UTC)
