BBC Sessions

[edit]

The BBC Sessions CD does not include those medleys you listed due to licence clearance issues at the time of compilation. While they may have been on the bootleg, on the official CD they were edited out. MegX (talk) 02:45, 11 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, but I'm going to revert the edits. If you have the bootleg CD you are welcome to create the article specifically for it, but on the official CD, all those medleys were deleted. MegX (talk) 02:50, 11 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Response from jRRp: First off, if you have the official release CD, you would see that the Whole Lotta Love Medley DOES include those four songs. 4 other songs were edited out, but these four songs remain. That is why the Whole Lotta Love on disc 2 is 13 mins and 45 secs long, which Whole Lotta Love would NOT be unless it was a medley. Also, these four songs are LISTED on the back of the CD case on the official release. I can scan it for you if you wish.

Second, since this article IS about the Led Zeppelin BBC Sessions, doesn't it make sense that it should include ALL the BBC Sessions and not just the official release?

No, because the article is about the official CD. Note the album infobox at the top and its listing in the discography. Concerts etc are listed and mentioned in the Led Zeppelin United Kingdom Tour Summer 1969 article. Bootlegs are listed under Led Zeppelin bootleg recordings article. Note there are a number of bootleg recordings with their sessions discussed already listed. MegX (talk) 23:47, 11 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

You're right, I apologize. Although it does seem to spread out a lot of information that should go together. This is just my opinion, of course, but it really would make sense for the entire BBC Sessions to go in the BBC Session article, noting which ones were released and which weren't, as well as including Eddie Edwards analysis of it. Perhaps it should be considered...

What's the name of the bootleg? That session was bootlegged a number of times. Maybe an article on its own can be started? MegX (talk) 07:43, 12 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I have nominated The Doors Original Acetate Demos, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/The Doors Original Acetate Demos. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.
