Please do not add controversial information to Wikipedia without giving sources, as you did to Hangul and Taejo of Goryeo. You may want to read the introduction to editing. —Politizertalk • contribs ) 13:21, 3 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, adding content without citing a reliable source, as you did to Han (cultural), is not consistent with our policy of verifiability. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. If you are familiar with Wikipedia:Citing sources, please take this opportunity to add references to the article. You may not use other Wikipedia articles as sources. Please see Reliable Sources. Also, please do not add extra whitespace in your edits. —Politizertalk • contribs ) 13:29, 3 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Also, please do not mark your edits as "minor" edits; "minor" should only be used for minor corrections to spelling, punctuation, etc., and not for major edits such as the ones you have been making. Please read Help:Minor edit for more information. —Politizertalk • contribs ) 13:32, 3 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

ultra-nationalist S Koreans knowingly omitted Taejo Wang Geon was of ' Han-Chinese ' extraction. This fact is well-known among Korean circle who take interest in history.By the way,I got that website from a non-Sinophobic S Korean forumiteJigglypuffie (talk) 14:58, 3 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It doesn't matter how "well-known" it is, you still need to provide a verifiable citation. If it is as well-known as you say, it should be easy to find a good reference. Also, I don't care where you got the website; I am merely saying that you need to provide a translation of the relevant parts if you are going to use it as a source for the article. Because this is English Wikipedia, you need to make all your citations accessible to English readers. —Politizertalk • contribs ) 15:00, 3 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not add links directly into the article, as you did at Taejo of Goryeo. Rather, use inline footnotes, as described Wikipedia:Reference#Footnote summary here. If you add a source that is in a foreign language, such as the Korean source you added, please provide a translation of the relevant sentences within the footnote. Also, again, other Wikipedia articles may not be used as sources. —Politizertalk • contribs ) 13:43, 3 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

re: Taejo Wang Geon

[edit]

That website is in Korean; like I said, you must provide a translation of the relevant part, as this is English Wikipedia. Also, like I said before, please add the reference appropriately using footnotes, rather than just sticking it in the article, and please only leave one space in between paragraphs when you make your edit. Finally, do not indiscriminately use Chinese characters without providing English as well; again, this is English Wikipedia, and most users cannot read Chinese or Hangul. —Politizertalk • contribs ) 13:55, 3 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Also, when you leave a message on a user's talk page, standard practice is generally to leave it at the bottom of the page, set off in a new section using ==. Just letting you know. —Politizertalk • contribs ) 13:57, 3 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Leaving messages on user talk pages

[edit]
  1. Please sign your messages by typing ~~~~ at the end or clicking the signature button above the edit field.
  2. If you have already posted on my talk page, please post your next message within the same section as your previous message, indented using : . That is, type a : before the beginning of your message, so that it will be indented one level. Do not post your message within a subsection that was started by a different user, as that is a different conversation.
  3. If you want to start a new section, use the "new section" tab at the top of the page. —Politizertalk • contribs ) 15:06, 3 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
