Your account has been indefinitely blocked from editing because of the following problems: the account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia, and your username indicates that the account represents a business, organisation, group, or web site, which is against the username policy.

You may request a change of username and unblock if you intend to make useful contributions instead of promoting your business or organization. To do this, first search Special:CentralAuth for available usernames that comply with the username policy. Once you have found an acceptable username, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with your new username and replace the text "Your reason here" with your reasons to be unblocked. In your reasons, you must:

  • Disclose any compensation you may receive for your contributions in accordance with the paid-contribution disclosure requirement.
  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
Appeals: If, after reviewing the guide to appealing blocks, you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal it by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your reason here" with the reasons you believe the block was an error, and publish the page. Lourdes 07:11, 11 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Lourdes, I'm sorry my username violated Wikipedia's terms and conditions, that wasn't my intention. I don't need a page, just a username to contribute content. I am happy for the Jessica Morris Media page to be deleted, to change the name, or to take out the info on it as needed, I just wanted to mark where I have been paid to research artists as a secondary source so people know I am an investigative journalist. The information I have included on the page I tried to submit about Sean BE is all factual and can be found online by fans. It is not there to promote the artist, just to curate information, and I was paid by WieRok Entertainment purely to do this. Are there any parts of it that need to be changed, or do I need different sources? This is my first time uploading, so I'm sorry for my errors! I would like to learn what I did wrong so I can ensure I meet your standards next time. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jessica Morris Media (talkcontribs)

Decline reason:

"JM90" is taken as a username, so you will need to propose something else. In this situation most admins would like to see edits in areas unrelated to your conflicts of interest so that we know permitting you to even indirectly contribute in COI related areas would not be a waste of time for everyone (including you), and that doing so demonstrates your understanding of relevant Wikipedia guidelines. I will be frank- for which I apologize- while paid editing is not forbidden if disclosed(which you have) very few editors will hold your hand here to guide you. We expect you, if you are getting or anticipate getting income from your editing, to be aware of and comply with relevant policies. Also be aware that other things exist. Other articles you have viewed may be problematic and you would probably be unaware of this. I am unwilling at this time to unblock you to edit about clients; if you want to edit about other topics, please tell what. I am declining your request. 331dot (talk) 23:54, 13 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not seeing where you tried to submit a draft, did you this before creating this account? 331dot (talk) 10:29, 11 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Please also make sure that both you and your clients are familiar with a few fundamental things about Wikipedia:
  1. Wikipedia articles are about notable topics. Not every person/thing that exists is notable enough for mention on Wikipedia. Writing about a topic that fails to meet the notability criteria is a wasted effort.
  2. If a topic is notable enough for inclusion, then the subject of the article will have no right of ownership or control over its content. You don't own any content on Wikipedia, even content you create. Articles can be edited by anyone at anytime, and the content can change substantially over time. Clear-cut vandalism and libellous edits can be undone immediately, but otherwise consensus is Wikipedia's fundamental editoral model.
  3. The neutral point of view policy will ensure that both positive and negative information about a topic can be included, provided it is reliably sourced and presented in a plain, factual tone with proper WP:BALANCE. This may result in a much different article than what a client had hoped for (see WP:LUC and WP:PROUD).

Hello, I think the draft was cancelled when my name was blocked. I am happy to edit it, and resubmit as a draft to ensure it meets guidelines. Is there a place I can do this - maybe in the sandbox? I also understand content can be edited by any user and that this is important for the integrity of Wikipedia, thanks for highlighting that for me, and I will make sure I communicate that with potential clients moving forward!
In particular, I would like to upload a page about a musician named Sean BE. Before considering uploading, I researched similar musicians who have wikipedia pages and their following, coverage in the media, releases and level of fame. I know not every musician is notable enough to appear on Wikipedia, however Sean BE's fame exceeds that of the independent musician Collington, who also received the same award as him in the Christian Music Industry. Sean has more followers on social media, he has appeared in press outlets across the globe, and his songs have charted, making him notable.
I understand the importance of a neutral point of view, and this is my end goal in uploading content. While I am working with a client for the potential submission of a page, they see information pertaining to the artists career, personal life and chart positions. The final copy is a summary of the information which I have researched, double checked, and found from legitimate second hand sources. It is stated in a concise and factual way. I will steer clear of press releases as sources, and the artist website, knowing these use promotional language and we just want information. Could I have the opportunity to change my username and submit a new draft following your guidelines? Thank you for your help! Jessica Jessica Morris Media (talk) 05:32, 12 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Do you have any personal or professional connection to Sean? Daniel Case (talk) 06:41, 12 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Jessica Morris, blocking has no effect on edits made before the block, unless you hadn't hit "publish changes" before you were blocked(which is a possibility). What was the exact title of the draft? Daniel Case she states that she is paid as an investigative journalist, though I don't know if that is by article subjects directly or a third party(PR agency/agent, etc.). 331dot (talk) 09:08, 12 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hello @331dot, the draft was titled 'Sean BE'. I can't find it anywhere in my profile, so I mustn't have hit 'publish changes'. If it does exist somewhere, it will be dated April 10. If the draft has not been saved, can you enable my profile (or equip me with a new username) to submit the draft again? I'd be happy to drop it in my sandbox first for assessment!
@Daniel CaseI am a paid investigative journalist - in this case, I have been paid by Sean's management at WieRok Entertainment, LLC to compile and condense relevant information for a Wikipedia page. Jessica Morris Media (talk) 11:45, 12 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
There was a Draft:Sean BE created in January by a different account. Was that you? 331dot (talk) 12:52, 12 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@331dotno, that was not me. This is my first and only account on Wikipedia. Jessica Morris Media (talk) 20:56, 12 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Then possibly the writer of that draft is the one who hired you. In any event I'm not sure where your draft went, unless you didn't click Publish Changes before you were blocked. 331dot (talk) 21:12, 12 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@[[User:331dot|331dot] That makes sense. Can you enable my account so I can upload a new draft for consideration? Jessica Morris Media (talk) 22:45, 13 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
