Request for Arbitration
I have filed a Request for arbitration as a third person (since I'm barely involved in political issues this past month). As one of the involving parties, you are free to post your own statements there. Remember, however, that it does not serve as a certificate of me supporting your stand. Regards, Vic226 09:26, 22 March 2007 (UTC)
Referencing styles
Hi,
(re: Talk:Taiwanese aborigines)
There are notes and references, but I believe the refs are all in only one style. If you see probs, I'd be grateful for examples... thanks! --Ling.Nut 20:24, 27 March 2007 (UTC)
- OK, thanks for your help! You may be right; GA and FA reviewers may ding us on this score... but I don't think so.. we'll see... thanks again! --Ling.Nut 21:10, 27 March 2007 (UTC)
- Wow, you're asking a short question with an extrememly long answer! It is a bit confusing.
- In publications printed on paper (or similar media), Notes can be either endnotes or footnotes...
- Footnotes are given at the bottom of the page that the information they discuss is on.. and endnotes are given at the end of the article..
- But Wikipedia articles do not have pages. Each article is all on one page... so what we call footnotes are actually endnotes (!) since they appear at the end! But never mind that. Call them footnotes, in the context of Wikipedia (and the Internet in general).
- There is a difference between a footnote and the footnote style.
- Footnotes are always in footnote style. In fact, the name of the style comes from the fact that it is the style used for... footnotes. :-)
- References' can be provided in various styles, including MLA, APA, LSA, Harvard, Chicago..... and in the same style used for footnotes.
- But references and footnotes are not, technically, the same thing.
- I'm sure that was confusing. It helps to get some journals (or articles published online; there are countless numbers of those) and actually look at the notes, references, etc. to see what I mean..
- Later! --Ling.Nut 22:56, 27 March 2007 (UTC)

Hello. I have re-assessed the article to high importance of WikiProject Taiwan. Please read my response in the talk page. Thanks. AQu01rius (User • Talk) 02:56, 12 April 2007 (UTC)
Non-political
Thanks for reverting changes to show a non-political approach on Teresa Teng. You might like to leave an explanation about this for the resposible editor, TingMing. - Fayenatic london (talk) 21:17, 16 April 2007 (UTC)
Chen is not President of Taiwan.
I cannot believe what you just said. Chen is not President of Taiwan. He is President of the Republic of China. Just like Hu Jian-tao is President of the People's Republic of China. He is not President of Shandong Province. Chen is not President of Taiwan Province. There is no such thing. He is instead President of the whole Republic of China. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by TingMing (talk • contribs) 23:39, 23 April 2007 (UTC).
- Note that the article name is President of the Republic of China. TingMing 00:17, 24 April 2007 (UTC)
Following your conventions
You need to also move President of the People's Republic of China to President of China. TingMing 01:01, 24 April 2007 (UTC)
- That doesn't confuse people, so I wouldn't move that.--Jerrypp772000 01:02, 24 April 2007 (UTC)
Then that means you should move Republic of China to just Taiwan. TingMing 05:05, 24 April 2007 (UTC)
- Nahh. We need an agreement from other users.--Jerrypp772000 18:59, 24 April 2007 (UTC)
But then why are you doing other things? You need agreement about that too by adding (Taiwan) To everything. TingMing 01:41, 25 April 2007 (UTC)
- The "(Taiwan)" tag was devised in attempt to negotiate with your persistent decision to stick "Republic of China" in there. The original version was simply "Taiwan" followed by nothing else (disregard new articles' first edits that use "Republic of China" as they are too old to have anything to do with this). When Jerry772000 changed them into "Taiwan", there was no objection from anyone so a discussion isn't really needed. Until you came along.
- Oh, and "you need agreement about that too by adding [Province, Republic of China on Taiwan] To everything", don't you? Vic226 03:42, 25 April 2007 (UTC)
- Not really, TingMing. Since no one else disagrees adding (Taiwan).--Jerrypp772000 22:54, 25 April 2007 (UTC)
I am advising Tainan County, Taiwan Province, Republic of China. That follows the Chinese naming conventions. That is the correct political divisions found and used in Taiwan. It is still used, believe it or not. TingMing 01:31, 26 April 2007 (UTC)
Hello,
An Arbitration case involving you has been opened: Wikipedia:Requests for arbitration/TingMing. Please add any evidence you may wish the arbitrators to consider to the evidence sub-page, Wikipedia:Requests for arbitration/TingMing/Evidence. You may also contribute to the case on the workshop sub-page, Wikipedia:Requests for arbitration/TingMing/Workshop.
On behalf of the Arbitration Committee, - Penwhale | Blast him / Follow his steps 14:27, 29 April 2007 (UTC)
- I recommend you stop reverting TingMing at least until the conclusion of the ArbCom case. --Ideogram 19:13, 29 April 2007 (UTC)
- I promise I won't violate the 3RR. I'll try to stop and discuss.--Jerrypp772000 19:36, 29 April 2007 (UTC)
I would like to remind you that requesting ArbCom cases is pointless unless you actually take part. -Loren 23:46, 6 May 2007 (UTC)
- Well, since you requested it, there is obviously some example of behavior which you find unacceptible, is there not? Also, the point of ArbCom is to come up with some type of binding solution, you can always make proposals on how to address the problem. What do you hope to get out of the whole thing? -Loren
I have sugested a motion on Wikipedia:Requests for arbitration/TingMing/Workshop#Addressing the larger problem. Input is welcome. -Loren 00:11, 7 May 2007 (UTC)
He's free to respond to it on the main page. If nessecary someone from ArbCom will do the moving. -Loren 00:37, 8 May 2007 (UTC)
Since we finally seem to be getting a dialogue started, I'm going to start holding you to your promise not to make any political edits in article space until this thing is resolved. I've notified TingMing of the same thing. -Loren 01:36, 8 May 2007 (UTC)
I noticed. Incivility on Wikipedia only serves to reflect poorly on the uncivil person. BTW, thank you for continuing to hold off on political edits while discussion continues.-Loren 00:29, 14 May 2007 (UTC)
10 Major Construction Projects
Jerry,
I'll dig through some information and lend you a hand. I gotta go now, but soon. Maowang 03:00, 1 May 2007 (UTC)
Me Vandalizing, you POVing
First of all, ask any unbiased Admin, and see if they think I am vandalizing. Just because our views are not the same doesn't mean any edits I have made are vandalizing. You're a TI-er, claiming yourself to be a Taiwanese, and having hatred to China everywhere. I don't care. However, don't you dare go to other users and say they're vandalizing. I will continue to help Wikipedia best I can. You have completely lost my respect. Good day to you. Sky Divine 19:18, 1 May 2007 (UTC)
From your edits and user page, it clearly shows that you believe in the theory that Taiwan should be independent, and also "a completely different country from China?" Nuff said. Sky Divine 01:39, 4 May 2007 (UTC)
Just because I am a new member doesn't mean I don't know the code. When I edited TVBS, you reverted it because of "vandalism?" Whatever. I'm not here on Wikipedia to fight, but I will not take people pushing others around. You might have not, but I just want you to know that my point on Wikipedia is to contribute and have a good time, not fight and argue pointlessly on "Taiwan" or "Republic of China", etc. Have fun, cheers. Sky Divine 19:55, 4 May 2007 (UTC)
Arbitration
I have filed an arbitration case against you. Check here. http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Wikipedia:Requests_for_arbitration#Jerrypp772000
Thanks!
Jerry,
I haven't forgotten about your 10 Projects... (kinda sounds like me lately). I am waiting for some books to arrive and then I'll see what I can do.
Thanks for your support on Taiwanese Aborigines. It has been a really positive collaboration and I look to do the same elsewhere. Thanks again!Maowang 01:40, 10 May 2007 (UTC)
- You're welcome.--Jerrypp772000 21:24, 10 May 2007 (UTC)
Taiwan Democracy Memorial Hall
If you could go through the rest of the article to update it accordingly, as well as any other linked ones, I'd appreciate it! Cheers, John Smith's 23:22, 10 May 2007 (UTC)
- I'm afraid Ting and Jiang have moved the page back for a second time. I'm not sure what you want to do (if anything) at this point. John Smith's 22:21, 12 May 2007 (UTC)
- No probs. John Smith's 22:39, 12 May 2007 (UTC)
That remark was a bit silly
The Holy See does not have diplomatic relations with the People's Republic of China. They never did. You have reverted that multiple times, but that is completely false. The Vatican has always recognized the Republic of China as the sole legitimate government of China. So now you know. TingMing 03:09, 12 May 2007 (UTC)
- Oops, I didn't know that. However, Saint Lucia recognized both the ROC and the PRC.--Jerrypp772000 22:41, 12 May 2007 (UTC)
It was temporary lasting only a few days. The PRC tried to buy back Saint Lucia during these two days. TingMing 01:41, 13 May 2007 (UTC)
- But did Saint Lucia end the diplomatic relations? I think PRC did.--Jerrypp772000 13:10, 13 May 2007 (UTC)
hey jerry
hey jerry, please let maowang remove that stuff from the raw and cooked section of talk Taiwanese Aborigines... he has a very good reason... thanks!!! Ling.Nut 00:22, 16 May 2007 (UTC)
- You don't have wikipedia email set up :/
- I'm gonna pull back from wikipedia until mid-August (except I'll be editing an hour or two on Sundays). After that, I'll try to help you with Taichung, Tounan, Touliu etc. Later, Ling.Nut 04:22, 16 May 2007 (UTC)
Thanks for adding Tsai's predecessor to the succession box at the bottom of the article. For the life of me, I couldn't find Wu Rong-I's name anywhere. Cheers --Folic Acid 11:50, 21 May 2007 (UTC)

Lee Huan
Sorry to bother you, but would you mind taking a look at the article on Lee Huan? I've just written it, and I was hoping to have a bit of a peer review on it. Thanks very much! --Folic Acid 16:41, 23 May 2007 (UTC)
- While looking at Lee Huan, I found two articles that definitely need to be merged. See WT:TAIWAN for details. Ling.Nut 20:57, 23 May 2007 (UTC)
Look
There is already consensus to keep the titles as they are. we should not change them. This is hilarious. Some people are making Wikipedia into a carnival. Please dont do this. Follow conventions. TingMing 01:20, 30 May 2007 (UTC)
- The conventions should be flexible, adding (Taiwan) only provides clarification and adds no harm. Therefore, I believe, adding it would actually be helpful to Wikipedia.--Jerry 01:23, 30 May 2007 (UTC)
task forces
Hi Jerry,
I joined WP:FORMOSA, thanks for creating it. As for WP:TWGOVT — I know I chip in to political articles from time to time, but the truth is, I just do that to help you and Maowang and others with what you're doing. I'm actually not very interested in politics... :-) Ling.Nut 02:34, 30 May 2007 (UTC)
- Jerry - Thanks for setting those task forces up! I'll see what I can do to help out. Cheers! --Folic Acid 02:38, 30 May 2007 (UTC)
Barnstar
Jerry, thanks very much for the barnstar! You're very kind to have thought of me like that. Cheers! --Folic Acid 01:00, 31 May 2007 (UTC)
