Ways to improve Robot couture

[edit]

Hello, Jeremiah Crosswhite,

Thank you for creating Robot couture.

I have tagged the page as having some issues to fix, as a part of our page curation process and note that:

It is not obvious from the refs that "Robot couture" is a notable topic - I struggled to find a proper [[WP:SIGCOV]|in-dept]] article on "Robot couture" in a quality source? There are refs to the specific Mugler costume, so perhaps it is what is notable (e.g. "Robot suit" appears often), but I cannot see that the "couture" is notable? thanks.

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, leave a comment here and begin it with {{Re|Aszx5000}}. Remember to sign your reply with ~~~~. For broader editing help, please visit the Teahouse.

Delivered via the Page Curation tool, on behalf of the reviewer.

Hello,
Are you able to clarify your ask? Are you proposing that there is an issue with the name "Robot Couture" or the article as a whole? If it is the name, do you have any suggestions for name changes? I have screened almost every article containing a mention of this garment in preparation for writing this article and have been unable to find a "exact" name for the garment as it was never named directly by Thierry Mugler the primary designer on the project. I could possibly change the name to "Mugler 1995 Fall Haute Couture Collection Look No.44" however I believe this title may be too long and a tad uninformative. The closest thing I was able to find to an official title is from Helmut Newton in 1995 when the garment was Photographed by himself. The photograph is listed under the name of "Robot Suit". I would name the Wiki Page that however it is unclear if that was the title given to the photograph of the garment. The title given "Robot Couture" comes from a peer reviewed article from the Project Muse journal: "Thierry Mugler’s Robot Couture refers to this tradition. Mugler’s stainless suit reveals the mannequin beneath through perspex holes: face, breasts, buttocks." Jeremiah Crosswhite (talk) 17:43, 14 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
