Dim Sum page

[edit]

Hello buffalo,

How's going? I am just curious why you did not allow other wiki users to contribute in wiki. But just in case if you get offended by my correction to the DIM SUM page, here are my reasons... and I hope you would accept it and understand my points.

1) The word "drinking-tea" is grammatically incorrect; therefore, to those who doesn't understand Chinese grammar will surely confuse about the actual meaning.

2) In fact, in many occasions ancient Chinese do tea tasting for pleasure. Therefore "tea tasting" is more factual/accurate than being describe as "drinking tea" which sounds awful. Chinese did not pour the tea into their mouth like animal. We indeed sip tea, because it is hot. I think you Japanese do sip the tea right?

3) There is already a direct interpretation under the cuisine section saying "literally drinking tea" that I had preserve. It is good enough to show the actual 2 block of words in Chinese.

I hope you somewhat agree and let people contribute their ideas. In fact we love to keep this encyclopedia as clean and accurate as possible. Correct?

Please let me know what do you think, and I will correct it again. Thank you for your understand,

Best, Jensen —Preceding unsigned comment added by JensenJunn (talkcontribs) 21:54, 25 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, two things though, and this is important on Wikipedia. First, the yumcha article says "drinking", it does not say sipping. As the two articles are written, your edits make them contradict each other. Second, when you make corrections, if the old text was in lower case, the new text should be in the same lower case. Your changing to upper case in the middle of the sentence is incorrect. I have no problem letting anyone edit Wikipedia, so long as those edits are good edits and benefit the article. If you will also change the yumcha article to read "sipping", and use proper capitalization, those will be good edits.--Chris (クリス • フィッチュ) (talk) 08:12, 26 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
