Teancum

[edit]

I'd like to thank you for your wonderful contribution to the Teancum article. I've been working on that one a bit and had been searching for some artwork for it. I really appreciate your addition. Keep up the good work. If you have any questions, let me know.

Regards, W7jkt (talk) 17:16, 17 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

An article you recently created, Jammerhead (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles), is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Hi Angus! I appreciate you taking the time to work with me. It seems your concern regards my citations? I worked hard to make sure that the claims in my article were well cited. The original television show in which the character features is referenced, and the comic book incarnation is referenced from a prominent TMNT-dedicated wiki. Was the fan site citation the issue? I recognize that fan sites are not the top-tier of potential sources on many topics, but this particular page is well-respected in the TMNT community and the information is very accurate. Beyond that, the recommendations of "independent" and "non-fan" sources I can see as appropriate for most topics, but when the topics are fictional franchise related ... what other kinds of sources are there? I can see more prominent focal characters like Superman or Batman having lots of news stories or even academic articles written about them separate from franchise or fandom sources. However, in many cases, not much has been written about other important characters, even though they may play important parts in multiple incarnations of a property across various media and merchandise. Jammerhead is one such character. While an important villain to the narrative and history of the Ninja Turtles, not much writing has been done about him outside of official turtle franchise or fandom sources. I believe he's important enough to include an article on this website. Is there something specific I am missing that disqualifies this article?
