March 2014[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm Fraggle81. I wanted to let you know that I undid one or more of your recent contributions to Broaster Company because it did not appear constructive. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Information icon Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at Broaster Company. Your edits appear to constitute vandalism and have been reverted or removed. November 2015[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm PamD. I noticed that you recently removed some content from Assurance without explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; I have restored the removed content. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. In creating a page about one company you destroyed a long-established disambiguation page. I have reverted your edits. If you wish to create an article about the company, please use an appropriate different title. Thank you. PamD 10:55, 5 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion nomination of Assurance Agency[edit]

Hello JenniferJaacks,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Assurance Agency for deletion, because it seems to be promotional, rather than an encyclopedia article.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Swpbtalk 20:48, 23 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Assurance Agency[edit]

The statements may be sourced; they are also universally glowing. Wikipedia strives for a neutral point of view. The page you created does little more than heap praise on this company (perhaps every positive thing that has ever been said about it in print). Swpbtalk 20:57, 23 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Managing a conflict of interest[edit]

Information icon Hello, JenniferJaacks. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with some of the people, places or things you have written about in the article Assurance Agency, you may have a conflict of interest. People with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, see the conflict of interest guideline and frequently asked questions for organizations. In particular, please:

  • avoid editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, its competitors, or projects and products you or they are involved with;
  • instead, propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • exercise great caution so that you do not violate Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use require disclosure of your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation.

Please familiarize yourself with relevant policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, sourcing, and autobiographies. Thank you. PamD 21:01, 23 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Do you have any relationship with the Assurance Agency which would cause a Conflict of Interest as described above? PamD 21:03, 23 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • I also have to question your affiliation, as a search for your name (going by your username) brings up results that heavily suggests that you're a PR/marketing person. Edits like this one, paired with the Assurance article, also strongly give off the impression that you (or rather your company) was hired to edit Wikipedia to raise a company's Internet profile. Now I'm aware that you claim on Pam's page that you are not affiliated, but your edits still give off the above impression. Keep in mind that working for a separate company is still seen as a conflict of interest if your company is being paid to write about someone else. Even if by some chance you aren't affiliated, promotional edits are still not considered to be appropriate on Wikipedia and if it's suspected that you are hiding an affiliation, it's possible that you could be blocked from editing for not disclosing this. Someone can still edit if they have a COI, but you need to disclose this and it's recommended that you not make any direct edits to an article or that you only create articles via AfC.
