Article Evaluation

[edit]

The article about media relations is rated as Stub-class and mid-importance. This shows me that this article might not be the best article to use for accurate information. The stub-class rating is described as needing more information. This article could be used to gain a basic understanding about Media Relations and the different aspects that it entails, but it should not be used as a primary source. The links to the references aren't even links so that is a huge sign that this article does not come from a credible source. The article seems to have different perspectives and is relevant to what the main topic is with subtopics included.

Choosing A Source: Media Ethics

[edit]

This article about media ethics lacks verification about the studies that have been done and the sources that have been used. It needs more focused information and clearer sources of information.

Here are some of the possible resources I can use to create a more focused, study driven article.

Media Ethics Edits (Draft)

[edit]

Global Media Ethics

The world lacks a media ethics standard on the global scale. We must create media that follows the standards and criteria for a global community in order to help different groups understand each other better. "Reports should be accurate, balanced and diverse, as judged from an international perspective." Biased or narrow minded journalism can cause conflict between different groups and create barriers that do not need to be made. Citizen journalism and other forms can take away the truthful meaning of information. Especially in a global sense, news and media need to be closely researched and monitored to be ethical. "What is important here is that journalists must be accurate and truthful in their recounting of facts, and they must be sincere in their intentions."

To add to the media and democracy section: "Transparency is a requirement on information handling. Transparency prohibits certain sorts of secrecy without setting standards for communicating. Informational privacy is better protected by requirements on communicative action. Freedom of expression, transparency and data protection set important standards for information handling." — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jennanathan (talkcontribs) 20:04, 15 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
