Malformed citation
[edit]In addition, the citation you added to Southwest Ranches, Florida was malformed, which caused an error message to be displayed. I have corrected the citation, but you may want to look at Wikipedia:Citing sources for future reference. - Donald Albury 22:33, 13 December 2024 (UTC)
- Thank you! It's been a while since I've edited on Wiki and I appreciate the assistance. Jenifer1214 (talk) 17:04, 15 December 2024 (UTC)

[edit]Hello, I'm Magnolia677. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Uncle Louie, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Magnolia677 (talk) 23:02, 13 December 2024 (UTC)
- Hi Magnolia! Thanks - We were able to get it sorted. Appreciate your help. Jenifer1214 (talk) 19:21, 15 December 2024 (UTC)
Managing a conflict of interest
[edit]Hello, Jenifer1214. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page Uncle Louie, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for article subjects for more information. We ask that you:
- avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization, clients, or competitors;
- propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{edit COI}} template), including links or details of reliable sources that support your suggestions;
- disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest § How to disclose a COI);
- avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam § External link spamming);
- do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.
Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicizing, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Donald Albury 16:40, 16 December 2024 (UTC)
- Hello@Donald Albury - thank you - no I don't want to create or imply that there is a conflict of interest. I had a previous account a long time ago and I couldn't log into it because I don't have the access to the email account. I think everything that's been completed is done. UL is not a friend but someone that I know of and been aware of for a while since the early aughts from the Howard Stern show. I just had a 'break in life' and wanted to get back into Wiki editing after a while and UL was someone I use to be fascinated with because he manages Mankind (who is from Panama City, where I'm from)and Iron Sheik (RIP). He's also a vet, like my dad. I noticed the header on the article that needed a "link" so I was trying to provide the links. I guess I was TOO helpful?! I was going to start updating the Suffolk Sports Hall of Fame, next - because that's the next piece that needed updating. That's how my logic works.I was just looking at the edits on the page and comparing what was done versus what had been removed and seeing what could be put back. - Hello, aside from not answering User:Donald Albury's question, may I ask--when you responded to my concern above, and you responded, "thanks - We were able to get it sorted."--who is the "we"? Thank you. Magnolia677 (talk) 15:55, 18 December 2024 (UTC)
- I'm sorry. I didn't mean to switch voice. Apologies. I thought when I got the cite corrected, it was done? I'm much better at the coding than the grammar. But I was referring to the interaction with you, actually. Jenifer1214 (talk) 16:23, 18 December 2024 (UTC)
- What I see is that you have edited just three articles in Wikipedia; the article about Louis Gregory, the "Southwestern Ranches" article to add Gregory as a resident, and the "Suffolk Sports Hall of Fame" article to add the recent inductees, including Gregory. That gives the appearance that you may be editing to promote Gregory. If you start editing other articles that have no connection with Gregory that will help ease any concerns about your editing. - I completely understand. Apologies I was away due to real work and life. But every time I go to make an edit to the page that I want to edit, such as Palworld, it's already been done. Is there a "List of wiki edits to be done" I'd love to help on that.Also, I wanted to incorporate this to FIFA or Art but I don't know how - I don't want it lost to history either, it's called the "Art of Soccer"- it's odd. https://communityimpact.com/houston/bellaire-meyerland-west-university/arts-entertainment/2024/12/09/art-of-soccer-campaign-returns-ahead-of-fifa-world-cup-2026/
- Is there a Wiki Discord ? Jenifer1214 (talk) 20:00, 26 December 2024 (UTC)
- There is a new, still experimental, I believe, suggested edits function, but you need to have completed 50 edits to use it. In the meantime, you can look at random articles to see if anything needs work. Look on the menu on the left side of your screen, and select Random article (you may have to click on three horizontal lines, which may be in a box, just to the left of the Wikipedia logo at the top of the page, to expand the menu). Most articles in Wikipedia definitely need improvement. Donald Albury 22:02, 26 December 2024 (UTC)
