Signatures
[edit]Hi, Jeffschaffer! Thank you for editing Wikipedia!
I noticed that some of your signatures seemed to have been performed manually, by typing something like this:
[[User:Jeffschaffer|Jeffschaffer]] ([[User talk:Jeffschaffer|talk]]) 00:00, 01 May 2017 (UTC)
which appears like this:
Jeffschaffer (talk) 00:00, 01 May 2017 (UTC)
While this creates signatures which usually look accurate, occasional typos can occur, or times may be calculated in your time zone instead of UTC, which is what the signatures are dated in (which is what the (UTC) tag signifies). For more accurate signatures, you can type ~~~~, which automatically produces fairly accurate signatures.
Did you know that signatures can even be customized? WP:CUSTOMSIG explains how to customize how you see your own (and other people's) signatures, how everyone else sees your signatures, and what not to do with custom signatures.
I hope that this helps somehow!
Thanks again for editing Wikipedia!

- I'm new and I type too fast before so I didn't really notice it. Thanks for telling me anyway! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jeffschaffer (talk • contribs) 07:15, 19 May 2017 (UTC)

[edit]Hi, Jeffschaffer! Thank you for editing Wikipedia!
I noticed that your talk page posts are usually not indented at all. However, Wikipedia talk page posts are usually supposed to be indented, to one degree or another. The exact layout can be somewhat mystifying, so I thought that you might find this help page useful: WP:THREAD. WP:INDENT might also help for more complex indentation circumstances than WP:THREAD can handle. I hope that these pages will help!
