Racist edit
How, exactly, were my edits in the LEAST racist?? they were the complete oppisite if you cared to open your freaking eyes. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 69.250.130.215 (talk) 20:23, 13 March 2007 (UTC).
- I never wrote that your edits were racist; perhaps you confused me with someone else. In my only post to your user talk page, I objected to what seemed to be your personal attack on one or more prior editors of Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas soundtrack, "god, are u frickn stupid?", in your edit summary here. Sorry for any confusion. — Jeff G. 18:19, 15 March 2007 (UTC)
- and I quote "Undid revision 114383338 by 69.250.130.215 (talk) rv racist edit", odviously you found something racist about my edit to the Turner Diaries article.
- I see now, you were writing about the edit summary I wrote for this edit. I'm sorry, that was an inappropriate choice of words on my part, but so was your choice of words that I reverted. You could have pointed out that diff in the first place. While I agree with you that there should be no hate and no hatemongering, including on Wikipedia, I think the way you were trying to accomplish that goal with the edit I reverted was flawed. Peace! — Jeff G. 19:23, 17 March 2007 (UTC)

Speedy notice
Greetings. You sent me a speedy notice here and on commons for an image on enwiki that I did not upload. A quick glace at the deletion log for it suggests that it's probably something that I or my bot tagged long ago. I don't mind the notice but the fact that I got one suggests that your notices are probably going out to a few too many people and that they might cause confusion. I'm not unhappy, I just wanted to give you some feedback. Thanks. --Gmaxwell 03:19, 19 March 2007 (UTC)
- Hi, and thanks for getting back to me. FTR, the image was Image:Pecorino-romano.jpg, since deleted. You may not have uploaded that image, but you wrote Template:Sxc-warning and Template:Contact, you appear to have more than a passing interest in Wikipedia:Possibly unfree images#SXC images (you wrote this there), and if memory serves, you edited that image's page. I count you as one of three users I notified about that image. Putting the notification issue behind us, I have had some trouble using my sig with your Template:Contact, so I created Template:Contactsig as an alternative. Here's how it currently looks (substed for historical purposes and so I can kill the cat shortly):

- Any advice on getting it to work with my sig would be appreciated. Thanks! — Jeff G. 03:45, 19 March 2007 (UTC)
- Killed the cat as promised. Oh, sure, NOW it works, it was showing {{{1}}} in place of my sig before. — Jeff G. 03:47, 19 March 2007 (UTC)

Deleted page
I have a couple of questions? Why have you decided that this page (Daniel Miller-Medzon) is not notable? If you really cared, why hasn't this page: Gabriel Plass which has a link from mine which is a no better page, been deleted as well? Just because you haven't heard of the person doesn't mean you can delete what you want. I feel that this was a bad decision. Why do you get to decide who's notable and who isn't? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Boysneaky (talk • contribs) 13:39, 23 March 2007 (UTC).

- I meant that they should both be part of a merged topic, perhaps something along the lines of "T-shirt record holders" or "Record holders (t-shirts)". — Jeff G. 10:51, 27 March 2007 (UTC)
heh
I didn't do the auto-tags quite right (but it WAS close) and I only changed the spacing after the period at the end of a sentence from one to two (or two to one, I forget). Still it looked by summary like I blanked the page. SakotGrimshine 12:49, 27 March 2007 (UTC)
- Sorry, I couldn't figure out what you did (even on careful inspection), so I reverted it on general principle (couldn't have "Blanked the page" as the last edit summary). Sorry if I stepped on your toes. :) — Jeff G. 12:53, 27 March 2007 (UTC)
- I thought my edit was funny after some anon blanked the page several times. Adding spaces is pretty invisible, too, so that's why you couldn't see any difference. SakotGrimshine 12:55, 27 March 2007 (UTC)
- "the spacing after the period at the end of a sentence" is ignored in regular HTML. And you forgot the smiley. :) — Jeff G. 12:57, 27 March 2007 (UTC)

your message
hello there JeffGent, and thank you for your message.
Well I am a bit surprised obviously that someone might think my username is.... controversial and warrant a discussion? As about your concern about muggles, fans of Slytherin, and people who don't like Gryffindor or Harry Potter, what can I say? The name was certainly not chosen to offend anyone. As to why I chose that name, see [1]. Some might not like Hondas such as in User:Tohru Honda13, don't like the Borgs in Star Trek as in User:BorgQueen, and is scarred of Wolves as in User:RedWolf. Should they change their names? Gryffindor 20:40, 26 March 2007 (UTC)
- Please see my reply at User_talk:Gryffindor#My_concern_about_your_username_.28Gryffindor.29. — Jeff G. 11:05, 27 March 2007 (UTC)
- Well, I have pointed out before in my previous message why I choose that name, please read through [2]. I basically identify myself with the values of the House of Gryffindor. As to alternative names, I would probably choose something that sounds similar. Why are you asking me why I chose that name? Gryffindor 15:26, 27 March 2007 (UTC)
- Again, please see my reply at User_talk:Gryffindor#My_concern_about_your_username_.28Gryffindor.29 (to keep the conversation in one place). Thanks! — Jeff G. 18:55, 4 April 2007 (UTC)
