MiszaBot

The MiszaBot config has to be on separate lines? :O That's a bit annoying, I was trying to tidy up my page ! ·Add§hore· Talk To Me! 19:01, 17 January 2013 (UTC)

Yes, it has to be separate lines. Otherwise the bot gets confused and could end up throwing everything into /dev/null; I saw a few instances of that back when I was watching User talk:Misza13. Sorry! jcgoble3 (talk) 19:05, 17 January 2013 (UTC)
Sad times! Maybe it is time for me to find an archive bot which would let me have less code filling the top of the page :) ·Add§hore· Talk To Me! 19:10, 17 January 2013 (UTC)
Actually, hold up a minute. I did some digging and came up with User_talk:Misza13/Archives/2012/06#Separate_lines.3F, which suggests that that was fixed in June. However, the template documentation and the how-to page have not been updated to reflect that. You could give it a try on one line if you want, but be prepared to revert if the bot screws things up. jcgoble3 (talk) 19:17, 17 January 2013 (UTC)
Might be worth giving it a go, I guess if things go wrong I could always revert and reset the template. ·Add§hore· Talk To Me! 20:15, 17 January 2013 (UTC)

My edit on Lamest Edit Wars

Thanks for reverting my mistake! --Slashme (talk) 14:47, 13 March 2013 (UTC)

Ah, it took me a couple minutes of digging to see what you were talking about. :P Yeah, no problem. :) jcgoble3 (talk) 22:11, 13 March 2013 (UTC)

Thanks

Thanks for completing the AFD procedure on Peggy Foster & carrying over my nom comments. regards 149.241.58.99 (talk) 04:30, 16 March 2013 (UTC)

Kings Island 2014

Long time no talk! Anyway, so I'm sure you noticed what's going around the SOB area of Kings Island and I was wondering if maybe you would willing to take pictures as construction continues just so we could use your's in the article and not have to go to Flickr and beg random people to change the license. For now, maybe just the teaser poster would do? (I'll be creating a draft of the future article in my user page soon aswell).--Dom497 (talk) 13:38, 28 April 2013 (UTC)

I have a few pictures from yesterday, including an overview shot of the construction area taken from the Eiffel Tower and a close-up of the teaser poster. I just need to find the time to upload them. Give me a few days to get them up. jcgoble3 (talk) 17:48, 28 April 2013 (UTC)
Great and no problem! :) --Dom497 (talk) 02:09, 29 April 2013 (UTC)

Ancient history/PROD expiration

in Wikipedia:Village_pump_(technical)/Archive_109, looking for another thing, I noticed a thread concerning my Null Bot, if you check the tasks, it's only ever been authorized to work on the BLPPROD-related categories, which I had worked on extensively, not the seemingly similar PROD categories. I don't think I had even realized there was a similar problem for generic PRODs, the templates and maint. categories are handled quite differently for the two. In any rate, JNB doesn't fix PRODs because it was never asked to. Maybe we need to fix that.  :) --j⚛e deckertalk 18:18, 29 April 2013 (UTC)

Ah, I had thought that JNB was supposed to do both types of PROD. My mistake. It does seem like something that needs to be fixed, and would be a perfect task for JNB. jcgoble3 (talk) 19:22, 29 April 2013 (UTC)

How do you put an image in an article?

I would like to know how to insert an image into an article. Roller Coaster Rider (Jonathan) (talk) 14:43, 8 May 2013 (UTC)

Wikipedia:Extended image syntax explains it better than I ever could. jcgoble3 (talk) 19:22, 8 May 2013 (UTC)

Re: Images

Hey sorry for a late reply I was busy with other things I think I got it this time. — Preceding unsigned comment added by CP&LERR Fan (talkcontribs) 07:06, 1 December 2013 (UTC)

I moved it into the infobox for you. Otherwise, looks good. jcgoble3 (talk) 07:14, 1 December 2013 (UTC)
How about the link I added to the bottom was it ok? — Preceding unsigned comment added by CP&LERR Fan (talkcontribs) 07:17, 1 December 2013 (UTC)
That is indeed valid as an external link (see WP:EL for the rules on that; this one falls under the "Official links" header). I moved it to the proper place and formatted it. jcgoble3 (talk) 07:23, 1 December 2013 (UTC)

Would it be ok too upload a photo you don't own?

No. All photos must be freely licensed or meet the non-free content criteria, which are very stringent. This policy is strictly enforced on Wikipedia. I cannot see a valid non-free use rationale for this image, on the basis that there is very little change in the primary subject (the locomotives) to the present day and thus the image can be easily replaced with a freely licensed photo by taking it yourself. jcgoble3 (talk) 07:31, 1 December 2013 (UTC)
