Great start! However, the content is a little lacking. Adding more information and statistics would be helpful to give a fuller picture of the disease. As far as grammar is concerned, the sentences could be characterized as run-on sentences. Be careful of that. I like that you used a reference from the CDC and then another from a medical journal.
