Thanks

[edit]

Thanks for the A W Bennett article. Vernon White . . . Talk 16:56, 16 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

It was fun! I'm new to this and still trying to get formats and things down. STL Dilettante (talk) 18:03, 16 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Good to see new entries in this list. Just a small point: the Manual of Style requires en-dashes not hyphens. If you're not sure how to produce them, just copy and edit the line above. (I don't care either way myself, but being consistent allows some automated processing of the list, e.g. checking it for correct alphabetic order.) Peter coxhead (talk) 08:59, 17 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Excellent. Thanks! I've only been editing for a couple of days, so I'm still swimming in the formats, etc. STL Dilettante (talk) 14:11, 17 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
If I can help, just leave a note on my talk page. Peter coxhead (talk) 11:26, 18 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for creating Alphonso Wood, STL Dilettante!

Wikipedia editor Wikishagnik just reviewed your page, and wrote this note for you:

Nothing much to here, article is a stub and I am sure others will add here. Not adding references as I see some good ones here

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Ihsan Ali Al-Shehbaz, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Flora of China (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Authority control

Hello STL, there are two different forms of GNDs. If you add an "undifferentiated" on, like in Storm Constantine, you don't add a person only a name (it's a temporary number, see de:Hilfe:GND#Personen). The German de:template:Normdaten has for this case a parameter called "GNDName". Cheers --Kolja21 (talk) 13:59, 14 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I know, I know. I started catching myself doing that more recently. Thanks for fixing it! STL Dilettante (talk) 14:12, 14 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The article Michael Skinner (percussionist) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non-notable musician. Neither ref is independent.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Do what thou wilt. I only added this stub because there were articles that linked to it. STL Dilettante (talk) 03:00, 11 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Phylloxera

[edit]

It does not seem that the pages for Phylloxera, Jules Émile Planchon, Charles Valentine Riley, and George Engelmann match up that well. They don't even agree on what species was used as the root stock. DaronDierkes (talk) 19:00, 24 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
