Friendly Reminder

[edit]

This is about the article Istory. Wikipedia is an open-source encyclopedia that anyone may edit. You, or any other editor, may not prohibit others from editing articles. Only admins have that power, and that's only used to deal with instances of gross vandalism

By the way, your article is up for deletion, and I suggest you read the Guide to deletion before trying to do something about it. -- Thesquire (talk - contribs) 02:07, 4 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

As you've been told before, you don't own this article, and it would be best if you work with other editors to bring the quality of this page up. Please read through some of wikipedia's policies and guidelines, as well, as they will help show you how articles such as this may be improved. --InShaneee 06:19, 4 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, you've got some POV issues calling a story "the best" etc, one needs a neuteral statement on there -- Tawker 06:30, 4 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Jazzer3?

[edit]

Hi. Just curious why you sign your comments with Jazzer3 instead of Jazzer2? Is Jazzer3 a real user or just a page you created? —Wknight94 (talk) 12:41, 4 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

An Project Page you recently created Wikipedia:Istory has been moved to your user section as User talk:Jazzer2/Istory. The Wikipedia: name space is for project related contributions, not for encylopedic content. Please see Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/Wikipedia:Istory for information on it's removal. iStory

[edit]

Hi Jazzer, just some friendly notes, since you're new. I understand that you're probably not yet familiar with all of our guidelines here at Wikipedia. Article talk pages are for discussing the improvement of the article, not for discussing the actual subject. (See Wikipedia:Talk pages) Also, if you notice different editors making the same change to an article, you might want to consider letting that change stand. For example, you have repeatedly put "==Introduction==" in front of the lead section, but lead sections at Wikipedia do not have subject headers, which is why this has been removed several times. (See Wikipedia:Lead section) By the way, are you the same user as Jazzer3? Pagrashtak 20:47, 4 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Jazzer, you mentioned in the iStory AfD that you "don't know how to send messages" to users. Regular inter-user communication is done through user talk pages like this one. Just press the "+" tab at the top of a user's page, and you'll get an edit window that you can write a message in. There will be a "Subject/headline" box that you can use to add a headline for a new topic. (More information about using talk pages can be found at the link Pagrashtak gave above.) A more private way to communicate with another user is to click on the "E-mail this user" link in the Toolbox in the left margin of a user page. However, not everyone registers their email address with Wikipedia. Hope this helps. ~ Jeff Q (talk) 00:00, 5 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Moving pages

[edit]

In the future, to correct the title of a page you need to move the existing page to the correct title, not just create a duplicate page. When creating a duplicate page you can't transfer the edit history. Unfortunately, now that a page exists at the correct title, you can't move the page there. See Help:Moving a page. Hello, Jazzer2. An automated process has found and removed an image or media file tagged as nonfree media, and thus is being used under fair use that was in your userspace. The image (Image:Istorycreator.gif) was found at the following location: User talk:Jazzer2/Istory. This image or media was attempted to be removed per criterion number 9 of our non-free content policy. The image or media was replaced with Image:NonFreeImageRemoved.svg , so your formatting of your userpage should be fine. Please find a free image or media to replace it with, and or remove the image from your userspace. User:Gnome (Bot)-talk 09:34, 16 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for File:Istorycreator.gif

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Istorycreator.gif. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. J Milburn (talk) 01:42, 6 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Non-Free rationale for File:Iwriter.png

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Iwriter.png. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under Non-Free content criteria but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a Non-Free rationale.

If you have uploaded other Non-Free media, consider checking that you have specified the Non-Free rationale on those pages too. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Notice

The article IStory has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

The coverage (references, external links, etc.) does not seem sufficient to justify this article passing Wikipedia:General notability guideline requirement nor the more detailed Wikipedia:Notability (software) supplementary essay. WP:BEFORE did not reveal any significant coverage on Gnews, Gbooks or Gscholar. If you disagree and deprod this, please explain how it meets them on the talk page here in the form of "This article meets criteria A and B because..." and ping me back through WP:ECHO or by leaving a note at User talk:Piotrus. Thank you.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
