American radio personalities by city

[edit]

Hello, I see you just created the page "American radio personalities by city", but I guesss your intention was to created the category "Category:American radio personalities by city", am I right? I mean, you page is now empty, and that may cause it to be speedy deleted. If your intention was to create a category, than it should be moved. Unless moving articles to categories is impossible...I've never done it. =P Victor Lopes (talk) 19:09, 6 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, I see you're already solving it yourself, so nevermind. ;) Victor Lopes (talk) 19:10, 6 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, anyway. --JayJasper (talk) 19:14, 6 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

DC Meetup Events: You're invited!

[edit]

Wikipedia Loves Art! (February 27)

The Smithsonian American Art Museum will be holding a Wikipedia Loves Art! meetup on Friday, February 27 from 5-7 pm in the Kogod Courtyard. This is a photography event involving Wikipedians, along with Flickr users and others, to generate content for Wikipedia. Come share your experiences, meet the other teams, and take some photos! While RSVPing isn't necessary drop Jeff Gates an email if you're planning on attending so he can get a head count: gatesj (at) si.edu. There also is a signup list here, along with detailed information. The museum is conveniently located across from the Gallery Place-Chinatown metro station.

DC 6th Meetup (March 7)

The DC 6th meetup will take place on March 7th at Pizzeria Uno's at Union Station, one level up from the main floor. The meetup will start at 5pm, and people usually stick around there for several hours. You can RSVP at Wikipedia:Meetup/DC 6.

If you want to add it to an uncategorized article, fine, but please do not replace DEFAULTSORT, Living people, births, etc. with it. There is no consensus to do so. Enigmamsg 20:02, 6 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your help on the article. If I may ask, can you give a quick assessment of the article? I think it can help me (and other editors) see what needs to be improved. CardinalDan (talk) 20:26, 21 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

You can see I did a little cleanup with the discography section per MOS guidelines and added a stub tag. I think it's an overall well-structured article that could benefit from expansion (provided additional reliable sources could be found).--JayJasper (talk) 20:41, 21 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the help. I'll see if I can find any other reliable sources, but I admit, it may be tough to find them. CardinalDan (talk) 21:14, 21 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

TfD nomination of Template:911ct supporters

[edit]

Template:911ct supporters has been nominated for deletion by Ice Cold Beer. As this TfD nomination includes objections to the same list of people that is currently in use in Template:911ct, I am inviting you to comment on the discussion at the template's entry on the Templates for Deletion page. (I am sending this message to you as a current or former editor of Aaron Russo, following the guideline on multiple messages.) Regards —  Cs32en  10:59, 30 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

password strength

[edit]

> Password strength' is a measurement of the effectiveness of a password as an authentication credential.

Can you elaborate on your thinking here? To me, as written this implies that if I choose a strong password I then have an effective authentication credential. This is not so. Strength speaks to the password's efficacy only in resisting certain types of attacks. Next few sentences of the intro explain that phishing, keylogging etc are not addressed. But the first sentence of the entry gives the wrong impression in my view. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.16.72.90 (talk) 02:56, 13 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Good point. I reverted back to that statement because I saw an unexplained change that looked suspect to me, at first blush. Your explanation makes sense, however, and I see that I was mistaken in making that revert. Thanks for bringing this to my attention.--JayJasper (talk) 21:10, 13 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Presidential Election 2012 article

[edit]

Hi there,

Myself and Timmeh have had a strong discussion about major change to this article. Before we did anything we wanted to get feedback regular editors of this page, William S. Saturn, Hysteria18, Jerzeykydd, Ratemonth, JayJasper, GoodDay, Qqqqqq, GageSkidmore, Reywas92, and FallenMorgan. Please send this to anyone else I may have left and please read the thread on Ruled Out and give us your feedback.

Pat DiCesare page

[edit]

I intend to move my article "Pat DiCesare" to its own page. I did not realize that you shouldn't put the categories in until the move. I was waiting for some editors to take a look at it - I was going to move it soon. Let me know what you think. Thanks for taking a look. -- 13:29, 5 August 2009 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Shermanfolks (talkcontribs)

No problem. A lot of editors are not aware that adding category links to a user or sandbox page makes the page appear on the category listing unless the ":" is adding in front of "Category" on the link. I learned this from a friendly fellow editior when I did the same thing myself a while back. I'll be glad to look over the article and offer feedback. Thanks for your cooperation.--JayJasper (talk) 13:56, 5 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Mark Sanford on 2012 Republican Primary Page?

[edit]

I think the Sanford debate will never end, lol. I have 3 sources that are still discussing Mark Sanford in conjunction to 2012 that are less than 6 months old, but JerzeyKydd is still insisting that discussion for him has ceased for 6 months. The sources I added are less than 6 months. I agreed to take down Ensign because no one is talking him in conjunction 2012, but why are people still talking about Sanford in conjunction 2012? I was wondering if maybe you wanted to add your feedback to this discussion http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Talk:Republican_Party_(United_States)_presidential_primaries,_2012. Thanks. --Diamond Dave (talk) 22:13, 25 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

It would be helpful if a link were provided to this blog. It would also be worthwhile to consult Wikipedia:Blogs as sources to help determine whether this particular blog meets the reliable sources guidelines. Thus far, the only changes I've made to your added content have been for grammatical, clarity and formatting purposes.--JayJasper (talk) 05:41, 17 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
