Precision Driving Team

[edit]

Thanks for the great pic, Jas. I have moved it to no. 4 in the gallery, because, after all, it is an agricultural show, so the Grand Parade takes precedence over the evening entertainment. When you add pics and info, you gotta think about things like that as well.

I notice that you haven't made any other contributions. If you have information and reliable sources, either books, pamphlets or online, that you could use as reference, you could begin a new article on the Precision Driving team that could be linked to this article. You would need to do a search first to see if there is already an article on Wikipedia. Make sure that you get the name exactly right, before you commence an article.

No problems at all. This is my first attempt at Wikipedia and am still struggling with it...

An article about the team is what started my interest in it. The only reference to the team is on your page.

Is there a good link that you found to add pages?

Thanks for contributing to Wikipedia. Unfortunately you have added a photo copied directly from http://www.toyota.com.au/hiluxheroes/gallery?WT.ac=Toyota%20V6%20HiLux%20HeroesToyota_Events_HiluxHeroes_TopNav_HiluxHeroesGallery#item-images-tab-1-hilux_heroes_formation_driving

Since Toyota own the copyright to that photo, WP is not allowed to use it unless special permission is given by Toyota. Also, you tagged the phot as being taken by yourself when it was really taken by professional photographer Bob Searly.

If you need any help (such as how to add references), feel free to ask me.  Stepho  talk  05:10, 30 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Stepho,

I'm the Marketing Manager for the team and have permission and the rights to use the images on the website. I have a large collection of images that we took during rebranding photoshoot of the team earlier in the year at Penrith. I was right next to Bob Seary when he was taking the photos. I am happy to credit Bob with the shot. [[User Talk:Jas07c (talk) 11:18, 31 October 2012 (UTC)

Ah, that makes more sense. You will need to read WP:conflict of interest. You are of course welcome to participate but beware that if it becomes too much like an advert then other editors may tone the language down. Other editors might also add negative information that you may not like - both sides of course having to provide references to back up their claims.
For the photo, WP will need Toyota to publish a note on their website saying that WP is allowed to use the photo(s). You word on this page isn't enough because we have no proof that you are who you say you are (not implying anything, just dotting i's and crossing t's because others have abused the system in the past). I will dig around and find the guide that WP publishes for using professional photos legally.  Stepho  talk  23:56, 31 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
As promised, here is the guide: WP:Image use policy - specifically WP:Image use policy#Free licenses and WP:Requesting copyright permission. My above comment about the note on the website is not strictly neccessary but some other form of communication that can be verified to be from Toyota would be required.  Stepho  talk  04:42, 1 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Jas07c. It has been over six months since you last edited your WP:AFC draft article submission, entitled "Toyota HiLux Heroes".

The page will shortly be deleted. If you plan on editing the page to address the issues raised when it was declined and resubmit it, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}} or {{db-g13}} code. Please note that Articles for Creation is not for indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you want to retrieve it, copy this code: {{subst:Refund/G13|Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Toyota HiLux Heroes}}, paste it in the edit box at this link, click "Save", and an administrator will in most cases undelete the submission.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. 레비Revicon 08:24, 26 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
