Magus Spoilers

[edit]

On the matter of spoilification, the fact that Magus is a playable character is a bit of a spoiler. Your username itself is a bit of a spoiler. The info box is technically BELOW the spoiler line, if they're looking that far down the page they can see his real name in the article to the left anyway. And in general, for characters like Marle, Robo, and Frog, their real names are listed in the info boxes because it's too much of a hassle to make them spoiler-free. If someone is looking up their real names in an article devoted to that character, they deserve to find out without us trying to hide the information at that point.--BigCow 19:11, 19 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Hello again, just so you know it's helpful to sign your comments by clicking the little signature button at the top, it puts down two dashes and four tildes so your name appears on another line.

I guess I'm still not agreeing with you, I'm of the opinion that the info box should be allowed to contain "real-name" information since a spoiler warning is included in the article itself. For example, Cait Sith (Final Fantasy VII) mentions the name of Reeve, Vincent is mentioned as an ex-gunman for the Turks, and so on. The article itself is riddled with spoilers, and if the info-box itself is going to contain any useful information I don't think it can get around that. The pattern set for the other similar articles seems to be all right with including basic information in the info-box. Quite simply, someone looking up information on a character shouldn't complain if they get that information, particularly if it's accompanied by a spoiler warning.--BigCow 01:16, 20 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, the current version of the article suits me just fine, glad to see we could handle this agreeably. Sorry about the Cait Sith thing, I just kind of assumed a self-confessed RPG fan would know that one, and it's not a huge plot detail at all, I'd guess that a good amount of people who played the game wouldn't remember that particular detail anyway. Keep up the good work, and I'll probably see you around the RPG related article in the future.--BigCow 05:57, 22 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]
