Cela me paraît curieux.Jan van der Zone 14:06, 5 October 2011 (UTC)
Hmm. Curieux, oui.
DS (talk) 21:08, 5 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Being cited by name as single author

[edit]

The matter I would like to solve is this: I am the author of an article about a Rembrandt painting (Philosopher in meditation) on both the English and French Wikipedia. Other than myself, no one has made changes to the actual texts since I published the articles. This means that the contents of both articles are my own work alone. I would like to be cited as the author of the articles with my real name. Is this possible? if yes, then how? Thank you for any help.

Interesting question... Speaking for the English version of the article, at least, you're not the sole author by any length (users Faustus III, Ericoides and others have had considerable input into its current form). You can see the contributors to any Wikipedia article by using the "View history" tab at the top of the page. As far as associating your contributions with your real name goes , the easiest way to do this is to associate your account with your real name - you can do this either by requesting a change of username or by simply identifying yourself on your userpage. Philosopher in meditation / Giving credit

[edit]

In the three years that my articles (English and French) on Rembrandt's "Philosopher in meditation" have been online, all of the content (not the technical fine-tuning) has been written and edited by me. Because I continue to research and write on this painting, I would like to be cited by my real name as as the author of this work: Jean-Marie Clarke --Jan van der Zone 09:22, 22 September 2014 (UTC)

List of paintings by Rembrandt - Edit

[edit]

You recently contacted me regarding my edit to List of paintings by Rembrandt. I reverted your change to the title of the painting because your edit contained incorrect mediawiki syntax; your edit had two pipes in the link instead of only one. You see the syntax for renamed links here: Help:Wikitext#Renamed link.

The only intention of my edit was to correct formatting. Feel free to edit the displayed link back to how you intended as long as you follow the mediawiki syntax properly. - RedNebula (talk) 16:06, 1 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The historical Faust's name

[edit]

The name "Johann Georg Faust" cited for the historical Faust is incorrect because it is not mentioned in any contemporary sources. The names that appear in these sources are "Georg" and "Faustus" (never "Faust"). Frank Baron has contributed much to establishing these facts. See Frank Baron, "Der Mythos des faustischen Teufelspakts. Geschichte. Legende. Literatur", de Gruyter, 2019.
