Your VandalProof Application
[edit]I think your doing great for this site leemacnike king !! Dear James McNally,
Thank you for applying for VandalProof! (VP). As you may know, VP is a very powerful program, and in fact with the new 1.1 version release it has even more power. As such we must uphold strict protocols before approving a new applicant. Regretfully, I have chosen to decline your application at this time. The reason for this is that unfortunately you do not yet meet our 250 mainspace edit minimum. Please note it is nothing personal by any means, and we certainly welcome you to apply again in the not too distant future. Thank you for your interest in VandalProof. - Glen TC (Stollery) 03:50, 17 May 2006 (UTC)
Dear McNally: I left a message in User:Funnybunny's talk page reporting the vandalism at Grazielle Oganna. User:Jon777 has recently vandalized Grazielle Oganna's article. See 'History' log for evidence: [[1]]. In order to keep the article intact, I ask that this user be permanently banned. As a huge fan of her, I'm getting frustrated with this entire episode. By Ci 18:36, 22 May 2006 (UTC)
- Mr. James McNally,

Unconstructive edits, such as those you made to Grazielle Oganna, are considered vandalism. If you continue in this manner, I'll report you. --Kiko Loureiro 18:55, 22 May 2006 (UTC)
- My response to this is on Kiko's page, and is copied here:
- Apologies, Kiko, but i have only just found your comment on my talkpage. I certainly agree that my edit on that page was unwarranted - i see now that instead of tagging it for deletion as nonsense, i should have looked back, and found that a proper article had existed, prior to vandalism. I can only say that the page, when i saw it, did look like nonsense, and i must have assumed it was a new nonsense stub, rather than a more long-standing page with a respectable history and some recent deletion vandalism. Sorry for using a mainspace page to communicate with another user - unfortunately that editor, "Ci", did not have a userpage or talkpage i could find them at, and had asked me to do something about the vandalism going on. I wouldn't normally use the mainspace in this way, but at the time i thought the article was a candidate for speedy deletion. Seems i was a bit hasty with the tags, and forgot to check the edit history! -- (triptogenetica) (talkpage) 18:29, 9 June 2006 (UTC)
Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Supine position
[edit]I rewrote supine position, please reevaluate your AFD. Thanks. Cburnett 05:29, 23 May 2006 (UTC)
- Yes, I'd certainly agree, that page no longer warrants its AFD tag. Good work! -- (James McNally) (talkpage) 16:54, 11 June 2006 (UTC)
User Page
[edit]Thanks James. I dont know how to do those things, so it helps. Maybe in time I will improve on it.--Blue Tie 15:02, 12 June 2006 (UTC)
Welcome to VandalProof!
[edit]Thank you for your interest in VandalProof, James McNally! You have now been added to the list of authorized users, so if you haven't already, simply download and install VandalProof from our main page. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me or any other moderator, or you can post a message on the discussion page. Computerjoe's talk 15:07, 12 June 2006 (UTC)
Speedy deletion
[edit]Other user's talk pages should not be tagged as speedy deletes, regardless of how bizarre they may come off. If there is material you find on one that violates Wikipedia policy — such as the posting of private information against that person's will — it may be removed, but other than that, talk pages are generally left to be maintained by the user who they belong to. Take a look at Wikipedia:Talk page guidelines for more details. Tijuana BrassE@ 21:29, 12 June 2006 (UTC)
- Apologies for this - i hadn't realized it was in the main namespace, as i'm just getting used to vandalproof. I've removed the tag, which seems sensible. -- (James McNally) (talkpage) 21:33, 12 June 2006 (UTC)
- No prob. I've mislabeled plenty of articles in my time here. Tijuana BrassE@ 21:37, 12 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit]Yes, due to a typo in my sig, people have been using the wrong talkpage. My fault. Here's what was left there:
hello clean-up crew. I don't know where to put this, but since my whole school is on one network, all of our ip addresses are the same and i keep getting messages of people telling me that they will block my id, i havent done anything. what is happening? im about to cry...i dont like confrontation, you have me all upset.. :-(
LOVE, ME (please)
Since I found no other way to contact you, I'll write here. If it is the wrong place, just delete it. This is regarding your message about changing the content for "tuesday". All the names of the weekdays except saturday and sunday are of Norse heritage, along with a considerable amount of the english language in all. The nordic influents on the english language preceeds what you call "old english". This is why i removed some content from the article, as it (in my humble opinion :) mislead the reader to believe it was the other way around.
This is about my Robot Chicken update. I dont believe that my update was nonsense as it was pertaining to the shock element that was being talked about in that section. I was legitimately trying to add to wikipedia. Thank you for your time. If you wish to contact me my email adress is REDMON89@aol.com. once again thank you for your time. EDIT: from REDMON89. i want to thank you for your speedy response to my complaint. i merely forgot to log in. I appreciate your understanding in the situation and do realize that, yes, what I put sounded more than a little bit far fetched, unfortunately, that is a sad circumstance of the show. (I've replied to all this, and it's all solved)
Thanks for contributing to this article. However, it would make the history of the article easier to understand if you made all your edits at once, rather than one by one, and used preview rather than submitting each one. I know you know your Wikipedia stuff, but the history page for the article is full of your name, and it's hard to see what changes have been made by who, and at what time, and whether they've been reverted. ▫ UrbaneLegend talk 10:00, 13 June 2006 (UTC)
Paul Westerberg
[edit]The note about Paul Westerberg being known as PWIG was not nonsense. It is a fact among many of his old fans. And Winona Ryder did state in a Rolling Stones Magazine interview that if she could have a personal Jesus, it would be Paul Westerberg. --66.161.11.253 00:05, 15 June 2006 (UTC)
Your signature
[edit]Your username appears in white when you leave a signature. I believe this has led to a couple of people posting comments meant for you on my talk page. I don't want to crush your stylistic choices, but I can't account for these users' confusion any other way! ▫ UrbaneLegend talk 09:51, 16 June 2006 (UTC)
- It just shows up as white-on-white on my screen. At both my home and work computer! Obviously this isn't your intention, but it is odd! ▫ UrbaneLegend talk 12:42, 16 June 2006 (UTC)
- It did result in several misposts:
- i dont agree with...
- i wasnt vandalising http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Hunters_Point%2C_San_Francisco%2C_California I just changed from "African-American" to Black, because not all Blacks come from Africa, and yet there is white Africans... What would you call a person from Jamaica, South India, or Central/South America with Black skin color?
- Kindly refrain from accusing me of accusing you of vandalism. You have confused me with someone else, I'm afraid. Check whose talk page you're writing on, in future. Oh, and always sign your comments. ▫ UrbaneLegend talk 09:00, 14 June 2006 (UTC)
- flag desceration
- it is contreversial...screw you james
- You have confused me with someone else. I've never edited Flag desecration or had any correspondence with you, whoever you are. My name isn't even James. Please check who's talk page you are posting on in future, especially when making abusive posts. Do it again and you'll be reported. ▫ UrbaneLegend talk 09:27, 16 June 2006 (UTC)
- I've resolved these.
Thanks. I know there was no bad intention on your part. Your sig is still showing up in white, though. Do you know if other people have the same trouble?Sorry, I've just checked a more recent post of yours and it's green-on-white now. That should do the trick. ▫ UrbaneLegend talk 16:06, 16 June 2006 (UTC)
- I've resolved these.
The Page of Black Tony User:BlackTonys7
[edit]Dear James McNally,
The problem with this setup is that Black Tony is still alive, and those who share in his adventures need to be able to post them at their will for all to see. I will not always be here to carry on the legend that is Black Tony.
Figured out why people kept leaving messages for you on my talkpage
[edit]When you copied the "Welcome to" box from my talkpage to yours, you did not change the link covered by "Click here to leave me a message" to point to your talkpage, so when people clicked on that link, it took them to my page instead of editing yours. Explains it all! Easy mistake to make, and I've fixed it for you! :-) ▫ UrbaneLegend talk 11:47, 26 June 2006 (UTC)
Of course I don't mind you using it. I copied it from someone else's page myself! ▫ UrbaneLegend talk 13:07, 26 June 2006 (UTC)
myerscough entry
[edit]Hi James, take your point about the Myerscough College entry, I've cut it back loads and hopefully made it more informative and less marketingy

Hi,
You may have an interest, since I saw your name in the history list of the Bow tie article: There's a separate article, List of bow tie wearers and an admin is suggesting deleting it. When I looked into the Bow tie page, I found there's already a list there. I don't have an opinion on which list should remain, but one really should go. I'd appreciate your advice on the Talk:Bow tie page, if you're interested and have the time.Noroton 00:47, 10 October 2006 (UTC)
Article Creation and Improvement Drive
[edit]Hello, I'm -Gphoto and I noticed that you are involved with the WikiProject Photography and I was wondering if you would please vote for Photography to be improved at the Article Creation and Improvement Drive. Thanks, -Gphoto 21:42, 24 October 2006 (UTC)
Thought you might want to know about this, it has the same goals as Wikipedia:WikiProject Photography, but is better organized. --Gphototalk 18:35, 30 November 2006 (UTC)
