[edit]

Please do not replace Wikipedia pages with blank content, as you did to the page User talk:Jimothytrotter. Blank pages can confuse readers, and are overall not helpful to the Wikipedia project; furthermore, blanking a page is not the same as deleting it.

If the article you blanked is a duplicate of another article, please redirect it to an appropriate existing page. If the page has been vandalized, please revert it to the last legitimate revision. If you feel that the content of a page is inappropriate, please replace it with appropriate content. If you believe there is no hope for the page, please use the appropriate deletion process. Hello, James.tuba. You have new messages at Logan's talk page.

Please do not vandalize pages, as you did with this edit to User:Jimothytrotter. If you continue to do so, you will be blocked from editing. Excirial (Contact me,Contribs) 14:19, 18 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I see now that you marked yourself as a new account, striping warning. Excirial (Contact me,Contribs) 14:21, 18 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
We have no proof that you are that user. Do not revert the page again. Syrthiss (talk) 14:24, 18 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, thanks for clearing that up. Syrthiss (talk) 14:38, 18 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
That's quite alright, you raised a valid point - I could have been any old Tom Dick or Harry! James.TALK

Rollback request

[edit]

Your old account never had rollback privileges- see its rights log; what it had was Twinkle, which simulates the rollback feature. Since that requires the confirmed flag, and not the rollback flag, I've given you that flag. Courcelles (talk) 16:09, 18 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

  • For the rollback flag itself, I'm not ready to grant it to someone with no edit history since 2007. Install Twinkle, make some good reverts, and I'll give you the flag in a few days if the reverts look good. Courcelles (talk) 16:11, 18 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for that Courcelles, I'll get reverting! James.TALK

New page patrol – Survey Invitation

Hello James.tuba! The WMF is currently developing new tools to make new page patrolling much easier. Whether you have patrolled many pages or only a few, we now need to know about your experience. The survey takes only 6 minutes, and the information you provide will not be shared with third parties other than to assist us in analyzing the results of the survey; the WMF will not use the information to identify you.

  • If this invitation also appears on other accounts you may have, please complete the survey once only.
  • If this has been sent to you in error and you have never patrolled new pages, please ignore it.

Please click HERE to take part.
Many thanks in advance for providing this essential feedback.

You are receiving this invitation because you have patrolled new pages. For more information, please see NPP Survey

New deal for page patrollers

[edit]

Hi James.tuba,

In order to better control the quality of new pages, keep out the spam, and welcome the genuine newbies, the current system we introduced in 2011 is being updated and improved. The documentation and tutorials have also been revised and given a facelift. Most importantly a new user group New Page Reviewer has been created.

Under the new rule, you may find that you are temporarily unable to mark new pages as reviewed. However, this is nothing to worry about - most current experienced patrollers are being accorded the the new right without the need to apply, and if you have significant previous experience of patrolling new pages, we strongly encourage you to apply for the new right as soon as possible - we need all the help we can get, and we are now providing a dynamic, supportive environment for your work.

Find out more about this exiting new user right now at New Page Reviewers and be sure to read the new tutorial before applying. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 04:28, 13 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
