AfD nomination of Mousepad (software)

[edit]

I have nominated Mousepad (software), an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Mousepad (software). Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading File:Mousepad.png. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Fastily (talk) 04:27, 20 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Please note, that this license you have applied to File:Mousepad.png is a copyright violation and subjects the image to speedy deletion as of [1]. Please attach a more appropriate license. For help, please refer to WP:C. - Fastily (talk) 04:42, 20 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. Concerning your contribution, File:Mousepad.png, please note that Wikipedia cannot accept copyrighted text or images obtained from other web sites or printed material, without the permission of the author(s). As a copyright violation, File:Mousepad.png appears to qualify for deletion under the speedy deletion criteria. File:Mousepad.png has been tagged for deletion, and may have been deleted by the time you see this message.

If you believe that the article or image is not a copyright violation, or if you have permission from the copyright holder to release the content freely under the GNU Free Documentation License (GFDL) then you should do one of the following:

  • If you have permission from the author, leave a message explaining the details at [[Talk:File:Mousepad.png]] and send an email with the message to "permissions-en (at) wikimedia (dot) org". See Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for instructions.
  • If a note on the original website states that re-use is permitted under the GFDL or released into the public domain leave a note at [[Talk:File:Mousepad.png]] with a link to where we can find that note.
  • If you hold the copyright to the material: send an e-mail from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en(at)wikimedia(dot)org or a postal message to the Wikimedia Foundation permitting re-use under the GFDL, and note that you have done so on [[Talk:File:Mousepad.png]].

However, for textual content, you may simply consider rewriting the content in your own words. Thank you. Fastily (talk) 03:06, 21 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
