Chili con carne

[edit]

Go ahead and replace the canned stuff back in. Kust had to do some research to verify it is indeed real. Rsm99833

bandersnatch

[edit]

looking at your edit and associated comment, i don't see why the shadowrun entry was removed from the page. to what was the mention redundant? xoxo, Avriette 18:54, August 8, 2005 (UTC)

Read the revision before mine, there where two notes about the Shadowrun bandersnatch, I removed the lesser one.

surely i'm missing something:
(cur) (last) 02:57, August 7, 2005 Jack Cain (Redundancy)
(cur) (last) 01:17, August 1, 2005 Avriette m (moved from bandersnatch as that points to carrol's critter.)
(cur) (last) 10:57, July 15, 2005 Richard W.M. Jones (Note to self - I will use Preview next time ...)
(cur) (last) 10:56, July 15, 2005 Richard W.M. Jones (Link to Bandersnatch (computer game))
(cur) (last) 01:26, June 13, 2005 D6 m ({{disambig}})
(cur) (last) 02:20, June 5, 2005 Wetman
where are the two notes about a shadowrun bandersnatch? please be advised that i don't care one way or the other. the reason i ask you is i had moved it from bandersnatch to bandersnatch (disambiguation) and it was subsequently dropped from the latter, meaning it disappeared entirely. thoughts? Read the whole entry, it mentions the shadowrun bandersnatch twice. Jack Cain 07:45, 9 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Handbook of Texas proposed deletion

Please go here and express your opinion on whether Category:Handbook of Texas citations should be deleted. As a Texan Wikipedian, your opinion on this topic is particularly valuable. 66.167.253.162 17:54, 26 September 2005 (UTC).[reply]

Ravnica

[edit]

It's good that you want to protect the Ravnica article from vandalism. However, one of the key policies of Wikipedia is "no legal threats against other editors".

And this does not mean that illegal threats are okay either. So no more death threats, got it? DS 03:15, 8 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome back

[edit]

Hey there. Good to see you've jumped back in; I was wondering if I should e-mail you to let you know your block had expired.

You're a valued contributor, but keep an eye on that temper of yours, okay? Trolls and vandals are annoying as hell, yes, but death threats against them are totally unacceptable. DS 01:48, 10 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, of course, Wikipedia is very important to me. Im very sorry about what happened. On another note, could you see about King Shark? Its a big copywrite vio. Jack Cain 04:31, 10 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

2006 State of the Union address

[edit]

Unfortunately, now that Freestylefrappe has left Wikipedia, I'm the only one working on state of the union articles. I'll try and add this in later, but what I've done so far was based on a chronological basis, and there's a lot that's not covered. KI 03:28, 6 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the catch on the extra comment.

That's what happens when you change you mind about what you're doing halfway through.

Inevitable (Dungeons & Dragons)

[edit]

Hi, Jack. I reverted the article. No big deal: another editor figured the article didn't have much information yet, so he redirected to the large page you saw, which itself actually had less information. If another editor comes along and does this kind of thing again – which will happen to you, it how Wikipedia works :) – you revert like I just did once, and if they revert your reversion, just drop them a friendly note on the page's talk or on their user page. We're all equals, and communication is key! – ClockworkSoul 12:49, 17 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion

[edit]

Hi Jack. All pages created on Wikipedia have an article history. This history is very important as it shows what editors have made what edits to an article. All articles on Wikipedia are licnced under GFDL - one of the terms of this licenciing is that all contributors to an article are attributed and credited. This attribution is achieved via the article history. By copying and pasting an article to userspace, the article history is lost, and GFDL is broken. We try not to let this happen.

If you would like to work on the article, you can do so in article space. If it is deleted (I understand it is on AFD at the moment), please contact myself or any other admin and ask for the page to be "userfied" - we can restore it, move it (with the history) into your userspace, and then you can work on it in userspace. Does that make sense? Please let me know if you need any of this clarifying. I know it took me a few tries to get my head around it. Neıl 10:50, 7 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia Ambassador Program in Houston

[edit]

Hi! I'm leaving you this message because you're listed as a Wikipedian from Houston. The Wikipedia Ambassador Program is currently looking for Campus Ambassadors from the Houston area, to help with Wikipedia assignments at Texas Southern University. Classes at TSU will be participating in the Public Policy Initiative for the Spring 2011 semester, and the role of Campus Ambassadors will be to provide face-to-face training and support for students on Wikipedia-related skills (how to edit articles, how to add references, etc.). This includes doing in-class presentations, running workshops and labs, possibly holding office hours, and in general providing in-person mentorship for students.

Prior Wikipedia skills are not required for the role, as training will be provided for all Campus Ambassadors (although, of course, being an experienced editor is a plus).

If you are interested in being a Wikipedia Campus Ambassador, or know someone in Houston who might be, please email me or leave a message on my talk page. Thanks!--Sage Ross - Online Facilitator, Wikimedia Foundation (talk) 20:09, 1 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
