cleaning up my discussion page
[edit]I hope to put the lessons below to work ( thanks for the editing help i will attempt to leave your comments in place as i impliment your suggestions. When / if ever / i finally "get it" i may stop at your page and ask you to stop here and check whats up and remove old advise as not needed and comment on new errors / add new advise as it is needed / i know i am rambelling ) and thanks for the welcome to commons et. al. but i think i will maintain this page only for now, and maybe for years to come, later may expand out from there. hope to have network ( below ) cleaned up and retyped someday. neural network
[edit]Comparison of brains and computers
{ However problematic, brain-computer comparisons are fun and help readers get a sense for the many interesting aspects of computation. I added a sentence to point out that Turing only applies to static functions (aka off line) while new theories of neural computation have developed non-Turing computing models (see Maass and Markram ref). Another point I'd like to add to the same paragraph: computers now have lots of embedded auxillary processors further blurring the what we mean by "computer" JohnJBarton 05:17, 28 September 2005 (UTC) }
Newbie here but i think John said it perfectly...

Also i have read edits and comments about + / ~ ( read as "and or") requesting simpler, less technical/medical/scientific explanations, And received one in person from my son last night while not suggesting a child’s version of Wikipedia something akin to a "Bill Nye the Science Guy's" { http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Bill_Nye_the_Science_Guy } / everyman’s link on each disambiguation (Neural network)page would be helpful / welcome. i am going to attempt to add a link to
Turtles and tortoises in popular culture http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Turtles_and_tortoises_in_popular_culture
{ I created a new page where people can keep adding pop culture content, so that this page can focus on the biology. We have done the same at Frog, creating Frogs in popular culture. Hope everyone agrees that this is a good idea. Best, Samsara contrib. talk 12:25, 8 February 2006 (UTC) }

Elmer the Tortoise In 1949 Grey Wlter built his first ‘model animal’ – Elmer the tortoise - using only two electronic brain cells
By Owen Holland
it all began several years ago ...... the famous neurologist Dr. Grey Walter built
his robot tortoises.”
I can’t remember..., but his words somehow stuck in my mind.
I knew ... how the brain worked.
He did not think humans
were intelligent...
{ This line "He did not think..."is what hooked me. i believe that Dr. Grey Walter's work should be Linked on all the Following pages:
http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Artificial_Life
http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Artificial_intelligence_(disambiguation)
http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Tortoise_(disambiguation)
because of the simplicity and elegant design of the Tortoises. These circuits are simple and easy to construct, study and understand.
While he and many others may not see a link here i humbly submit "I see a very early and IMPORTANT LINK."JSo9-10 }
humans were intelligent just because they had ten billion brain cells, but rather because their brain cells were connected up in many different ways. So he built his first ‘model animal’ – Elmer the tortoise - using only two electronic brain cells,

Reference Links/Footnotes
[edit]As explained in About Wikipedia, "if you add information to an article, be sure to include your references, as unreferenced facts are subject to removal." It is best to use inline citations so that other editors and readers can verify the information you add. Also, make sure that the sources you use are trustworthy and authoritative.
Footnotes The easiest way to create an inline citation is using footnotes. You can create footnotes with Wiki markup (under the edit box on your Wiki GUI) by adding
[2] ref tags around your source, and if not there already,
or under the heading ==References== near the bottom of the page.
If your source is a website, you should create an external link to the website address. Do not use other Wikipedia articles as sources.
To create an external link to your source, put the website address (URL) in square brackets before the text you add, such as
[1] It is a good idea, though not required, to provide a short description just after the external site address. This description will be displayed in the reference list as the title of the external site, rather than the actual URL of the site.
To cite a webpage without giving a description, you can just give the URL and enclose it in ref tags, for example
[2] There are templates allowing to format references, such as links to news articles, see Wikipedia:Citation templates.
The external links section Many Wikipedia articles have a separate section labelled External links. This section is for linking to websites with significant and reliable additional information on an article's topic. Not all external links are appropriate for use in a Wikipedia article, see Wikipedia:External links for a guideline. Before adding a website to an External links section, it is advised that you suggest it on the article's Discussion (talk) page.
If you simply type in the full URL for the page to which you wish to link:
http://www.google.com The wiki will automatically treat this text as a link (as has been done with the URL above) and will display the raw web address, including the "http://" part. It is recommended that you do not use this format much, as raw URLs are ugly and often give no clue to what the site actually is.
By including a space after a URL and inside a single set of brackets you can decide what text will be visible, for example:
Google search engine will make only the text following the space visible, yet will still keep the link seen here:

I can't tell whether or not your repeated additions to Analog signature analysis come within the terms of WP:ELNO, because your links don't work. Nonetheless, I think you'd find it a useful read. Best. --Old Moonraker (talk) 22:40, 22 December 2010 (UTC)
__This internal link: http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/ESR_meter#References Lead me to: http://octopus.freeyellow.com/99.html I thought I had checked to make sure the new link worked, must have gotten lead down the rabbit hole. Thanks for catching that. I am looking for a better link that works, here are three if you would like to see the circuit I was searching for :
http://www.ionpool.net/arcade/tech/octopus.pdf http://www.techlib.com/electronics/curvetrace.html http://www.armory.com/~rstevew/Public/TestEquip/CurveTracer.pdf
I am disappointed by them though they are not as clear as the circuit I found at the bad link. Thanks again, JSo9-10 (talk) 05:16, 23 December 2010 (UTC)
- Thanks for your note on my talk page. I'm afraid that all four external pages are way beyond my level of competence (as is the WP page itself—I can't now remember how it came to be on my watch list) so I can't really comment on them, but whichever complies with item 11 of the external links guidelines regarding recognized authorities would suit. --Old Moonraker (talk) 07:51, 23 December 2010 (UTC)
