Please note that when you're adding a photograph to an article about a politician, the photo does not go above the infobox — it goes in the infobox. You place the filename itself, and only the file name itself, in the image = field of the infobox, and any caption you want it to have in the caption = field, and if either of those fields are missing you add them. The image does not get added as a free-floating thumbnail above the infobox, however — that can be done only in articles that don't have infoboxes in them at all, and even then it's preferable whenever appropriate to add an infobox to them.
