Reference desk question

Just offering some advice, but seeing your question at the reference desk, you'll see that White magic points you to Magic (paranormal) which at best has some sources but is clearly incomplete as to your question. Sometimes I find that helping to work on an article (using reliable sources, like for example Google books) is a good way to learn about a subject myself.
