- Hey man. I'm not sure earlier is too great for me, as I have a couple of things I need to sort out. I might be able to make it for 1? Do we have a little bit of time after our meetings tomorrow, even if its half an hour? If not, how are you & Pat for wednesday? Jack Greenaway (talk) 20:50, 19 March 2012 (UTC)

Leo Burnett
[edit]Hey Jack, Hi mate, I came across this Time Article on Leo Burnett, it may be helpful. Bossplw (talk) 13:17, 13 March 2012 (UTC)
Hi Jack, Patrick said earlier that we are going to study Leo Burnett and i think that its a good idea that he come up with earlier that we each study a section on our chosen topic and then all switch areas so we can create engagement via editing each others pages. Thanks -- JackMayhew (talk) 11:21, 1 March 2012 (UTC)
Thanks for the message Jack. Please refer to your talkpage for my response. Jack Greenaway (talk) 11:58, 1 March 2012 (UTC)
Hi Jack, I think there are a couple books on Leo Burnett, there are certainly books that have articles on him. We just have to search for these. Patrick Watson —Preceding undated comment added 09:40, 8 March 2012 (UTC).
I have found a couple of articles that may help our cause:
The Journal of Marketing: Marketing Snags and Fallacies
The Leo Burnett Book of Advertising by Simon Broadbent
Bossplw (talk) 10:30, 8 March 2012 (UTC)
Sweet, can I ask how you searched for these sources (Key words)? Jack Greenaway (talk) 10:34, 8 March 2012 (UTC)
Here are some other important advertising figures:
[[1] David Ogilvy]
[[2] William Bernbach]
[[3] Claude Hopkins]
Bossplw (talk) 11:48, 8 March 2012 (UTC)
Again, sweet. I'm guessing by posting these you want us to have a look at them to see if how other wiki users have gone about editing/creating the pages. Just briefly looking at David Ogilvy page, I can see that he has a section for 'Works' and also how his life is broken down into years. At least his page has references too! Jack Greenaway (talk) 11:56, 8 March 2012 (UTC)
The section I am interested on is Leo Burnett's "Inherent Drama" technique used in his advertising. Bossplw (talk) 12:22, 8 March 2012 (UTC)
Cool man, I have decided to sort out the Introduction, and Biography. I'm also thinking of doing a Quotes section, on the basis that Mr. Burnett said ALOT. Jack Greenaway (talk) 19:10, 12 March 2012 (UTC)

I was interested in that area but didn't how I personally would be able to contribute with the direction I wanted to take it - I wanted to add a section of "Online Dating" to the "Internet relationship" wikipedia page but found out theres a ton of info all ready. See Here Online dating service. Good luck with it. Jack Greenaway (talk) 19:01, 7 March 2012 (UTC)

Leo Burnett
[edit]Hi Jack, Fancy a meeting a couple of time in this upcoming week before the presentation? Let me know. JackMayhew (talk) 09:32, 15 March 2012 (UTC)
Yeah, im sure we can make an arrangement Mr Mayhew Jack Greenaway (talk) 09:36, 15 March 2012 (UTC)
Hi Jack, all good to stay after lecture and discuss the project further and also lock down each of our interest areas so we can crack on with the work. Thanks for the message, Jack --JackMayhew (talk) 11:11, 8 March 2012 (UTC)
Hi Mate, i think this is the right link to my sandbox, let me know if it doesn't work. http://wiki.riteme.site/w/index.php?title=User:JackMayhew/sandbox&action=edit&preload=Template%3AUser_Sandbox%2Fpreload Regards --JackMayhew (talk) 17:51, 11 March 2012 (UTC)
Takes me to the 'edit' screen. Its ok, ill find it. Also I've had a go at editing the introduction, check out my sandbox. I think also it would be a good idea to create a "Works" section, where his work that was previously mentioned in the intro could go, what do you think, is it necessary? If not, they could remain in the intro, but just with reference. (like the one pat found). Answer below this man, not on my talkpage :) Cheers Jack Jack Greenaway (talk) 18:21, 11 March 2012 (UTC)
- This is the link to use to go to peoples sandbox (http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/User:JackMayhew/sandbox). For some odd reason, it can't find yours.... EH? Jack Greenaway (talk) 18:25, 11 March 2012 (UTC)
File permission problem with File:Frampton lake, Greenaway, 2010.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Frampton lake, Greenaway, 2010.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.
If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either
- make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
- Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-enwikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.
If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-enwikimedia.org.

See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

- Cool man, thanks for the heads up. I'm new to Wikipedia and now very worried about getting my image deleted but I am also very confused as what to really do? Is there an issue with using images from Facebook? How does one sort out the copyright licensing surrounding a Facebook image? Jack Greenaway (talk) 23:25, 12 March 2012 (UTC)
- Photos on Facebook are normally copyrighted for the whole life of the photographer plus some certain number of years (usually between 50 and 100 years after death depending on the country). Some countries have other rules, but images on Facebook are normally copyrighted worldwide for a large number of years since they were first taken. Ancient photos (for example from the 19th century) are usually OK, but this photo looks recent.
- You need permission from the copyright holder. This could be the Facebook uploader, or it could be someone else. There is no link to the image on Facebook, so it is not possible to check if any information is available there. Normally, the copyright holder would be the photographer or the photographer's employer, if it is a work for hire. Once you have located the copyright holder, you need to obtain permission (follow the instructions at WP:CONSENT). --Stefan2 (talk) 15:59, 13 March 2012 (UTC)
- Ok, I have emailed off the consent from. Thanks again for your help. Jack Greenaway (talk) 11:30, 18 March 2012 (UTC)
