If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Dronester requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about web content, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. GABgab 13:35, 5 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, JDonchey. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places, or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic, and it is important when editing Wikipedia articles that such connections be completely transparent. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. In particular, we ask that you please:

  • avoid editing or creating articles related to you and your family, friends, school, company, club, or organization, as well as any competing companies' projects or products;
  • instead, you are encouraged to propose changes on the Talk pages of affected article(s) (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • when discussing affected articles, disclose your COI (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or to the website of your organization in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • exercise great caution so that you do not violate Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Please take a few moments to read and review Wikipedia's policies regarding conflicts of interest, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, sourcing and autobiographies. Thank you. --VVikingTalkEdits 13:45, 5 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Reserving your name[edit]

You can't patent a domain name. You can register the domain name without actually launching the website. Any webhosting service (register.com, GoDaddy.com, etc) can help you do this. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 13:47, 5 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Social Media Writer[edit]

I don't think I have explained this clearly, I am not tied to "dronester", I am merely setting up their social media accounts for the company as an independent contractor. I wanted to post a few paragraphs on the development of the site and application before getting into further information on the interface and the technology being used for the new site. I just wanted to see what it would look like before I posted more information since I am not used to posting on Wikipedia.

As someone who "an independent contractor" you have a Conflict of interest and therefore should not be writing an article about it. In addition Wikipedia is not a location to advertise companies, which in the end is what a social media site normally is. If the site becomes notable in the future, someone not associated with the company in anyway will end up writing about it. VVikingTalkEdits 14:05, 5 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

We would like to post information about our new social network before our competition can steal our name.
That sounds a whole lot like you very much are tied to "dronester". WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 14:59, 5 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Notes[edit]

You said, "we are trying to fix the errors with the links. We would like to post information about our new social network before our competition can steal our name, which we are currently seeking to patent and have already formed an LLC for. Could you please advise us on how to fix the links? We wanted to link back to other wikipedia articles for users to learn more about some of the terms listed within it.". I'm afraid that we can't help with any problems you have with your name. That is not what Wikipedia is here for. Also, Please be aware that Wikipedia is not social media. It is an encyclopaedia and having an article here is a question of notability rather that commercial necessity or desire. If you are an 'independent contractor', the obvious inference is that you are being paid to do the work. I strongly advise you to read WP:TOU, our terms of use. In particular, I draw your attention to the section about paid editing, which makes it plain that such editing (whether as contractor or employee) MUST be disclosed. It is far too soon for an article about Dronester. Even when it is up and running, compliance with WP:WEB will have to be shown, and the notability proved with reliable independent sources WP:RS. Wikipedia does not allow 'place keeping' articles to reserve space for future use, and does not allow articles about non-notable (by our definition contained in our policies) subjects.
