A tag has been placed on User:JA Central Ohio, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. I am so sorry for breaking the Wikipedia guidelines. To be honest I am very confused on making articles and didn't really realize the article had been published. Can you have an account and not have a user page? JA Central Ohio (talk) 22:31, 30 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

You can have an account without having a user page. However, the user page is a place to write something about ourselves as Wikipedia editors - in your case, it may be a good place to disclose your conflict of interest. You are currently blocked because your username is the name of an organization and thus violates the username policy - Wikipedia accounts are for individuals, not for groups or organizations; shared use of accounts is not permitted, and the username must reflect that the account is operated by one person only. The other issue that led to your block is that the content you wrote about the organization was unduly promotional. It read more than the organization's "about us" page than an encyclopedia article and wasn't based on independent references. Thus the page was deleted; you will need to address that issue, too, if you want to request to be unblocked. Huon (talk) 00:28, 31 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

There have been two problems identified with this account: the account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia, and your username indicates that the account represents a business or other organisation or group, which is also against policy, as an account must be for just one person. Because of those problems, the account has been blocked indefinitely from editing.

If you intend to make useful contributions about some topic other than your business or organisation, you may request an unblock. To do so, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:CentralAuth to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy. Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In this reason, you must:

  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
If you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first. Hut 8.5 22:20, 30 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
