This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Istalix (block logactive blocksglobal blockscontribsdeleted contribsfilter logcreation logchange block settingsunblockcheckuser (log))

Request reason:

Caught by a web host block but 2001:8d8:1fe::/47 is the web hosting company's corporate/workstation network and only used by employees. Istalix (talk) 16:45, 11 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

Procedural decline. You have since edited pages other than your talk page, so this seems resolved. If you still think the IP block should be changed, you can contact the blocking administrator at User talk:Elockid. Huon (talk) 15:28, 27 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Are you sure this is your ISP? 1and1 does web hosting and servers and VPNs but does not serve as a primary ISP, as far as I can tell. I want to be clear, I may very well be mistaken. --Yamla (talk) 17:08, 11 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

1and1 does offer web hosting and servers, but doesn't offer VPN services; in Germany, 1and1 also offers mobile and broadband access, but is using different networks and IP address ranges than the blocked address space 2001:8d8::/32. 2001:8d8:1fe::/47 is the IPv6 assignment used for employee networks in Europe. Source: I'm a 1and1 employee and looked up the exact network assignment both within our IP assignment tool and our office networks wiki documentation. Ping @Elockid:, this is your block on 2001:8D8:0:0:0:0:0:0/32. Assuming Istalix is telling the truth, and I have absolutely no reason to doubt him or her, I see two options. Change the original block on 2001:8d8::/32 such that it excludes 2001:8d8:1fe::/47 (I must admit, my ipv6 skills are a bit insufficient to do that calculation), or grant an IP block exemption to Istalix. What do you think? --Yamla (talk) 20:22, 11 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
