Please do not add or change content, as you did at Montgomery High School (San Diego), without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Please reference things properly. References go after the claim and the punctuation. Don't use non-reliable sources such as individuals' online posts, and don't use sources which don't actually support your claims. I'm getting tired of going over your edits. There are many problems aside from the referencing issues and the copyright issues. This is an encyclopedia, so write things neutrally. A school article is written to inform general readers about the school, it is not there to contain non-encyclopedic information. Meters (talk) 07:57, 28 August 2024 (UTC)
- For future reference, what may include non-encyclopedic information? For example, would information about how the school hosted an art festival fall under non-encyclopedic content, or would this apply to other matters such as graduation? I assume that if they were videos, they would be considered unreliable sources. Additionally, for information that is not publicly available, such as events covered in a yearbook, I would also assume that it would be considered self-published, thus making that information too biased to use, as it has not been verified by other sources.
- I have not included details about how the school was the primary location for the 2023 Southern California VEX IQ Middle School State Championship or how it has been held where schools from far up North of San Diego has traveled down to Chula Vista to have it. I am wondering how this information might be sourced. Or if it would fall under non-encyclopedic?
- Also, there is no information regarding the high school's logo. Sorry if this is a bit of a tangent, however. I did find information in regards to the logo. As it is commonly know the school's logo uses SDSU,.logo however do to controversy the collage has distance them self from that logo.. As seen here: https://www.cbs8.com/article/sports/ncaa/ncaab/where-is-san-diego-states-mascot/509-dd1bc44e-776f-463a-b99f-9b7f996044f5#:~:text=SDSU%20had%20a%20mascot%2C%20but,would%20no%20longer%20be%20used Also here https://president.sdsu.edu/priorities/aztec-identity/history#:~:text=For%20the%20first%20time%2C%20a,to%20become%20more%20historically%20accurate" For the first time, a student portrays an Aztec in a football game skit. The character becomes known as “Monty Montezuma.” Over time, the character's apparel is adjusted to become more historically accurate. May 12, 2023" When I started to look back at old message boards( that could be found here:https://aztecmesa.proboards.com/post/1132417/quote/38588) I found information from an admin saying that "Post by aron off on Jan 28, 2020 at 10:25am Classic Monty design - developed by Angelus Pacific Co in Fullerton and designed by Arthur Evans, their mascot designer - created specifically for Aztec Shops. Evans also drew the tough USC Trojan, Purdue Boilermaker, Oklahoma State cowboy, SEC schools, Oregon State beaver, and others all for college bookstores My copy of the artwork is dated 6/21/1940 as the date received by Aztec Shops" Thus it lead me to the https://www.sportsfevercal.com/ I went to a location in person and say that they did still sell the logo being used on the hat. I couldn't find any more information in regards to that logo, However going to an old revision on the Wikipedia article It mentioned that "Mike Brindle, 1975 - Artist who drew "Monty the Aztec" logo" however I couldn't find anything to verify that. The logo there may be the old high schools' logo witch could be found only at the high school it self; in classrooms, on the original basketball gym(the school has two) and could be found on yearbooks. That logo is more colorful. There is also another logo that the high school ASB used for the header of documents and check request forms. I am not sure the time period in witch this would of been however it seems around the 80s. Yet I can't find any information that it was ever used the only proof that the logo even exist is at the school in on those old papers. Because I have not found any information in who created the original logo, the one used by the ASB I have not added any information as I can't find any sources in regards to that.
- So to end this rather long rant, I suppose that be that as it may, it seems that it may be easier if you provided some quick examples of what would be considered non-encyclopedic, such as what that may entail so I don't make that mistake again, as I am not completely sure what that may look like. - Thank you for bringing this to my attention. I would like to clarify that the edits I made were primarily focused on a few specific lines. For instance, in line 44, there appears to be a discrepancy in the phrase, “He is interrogated by the scientists.” in the "He" as there is a space. However, upon reviewing my revisions, I see now that I inadvertently altered a quotation, in line 88. I apologize for this oversight, as I was utilizing the source editing during my editing process. Thank you. Issac I Navarro (talk) 17:16, 28 October 2024 (UTC)
- You also changed parts of the plot from present tense to past tense; I'm not sure why you did that, but if you intend to reinstate your edits, please be mindful of WP:PLOTTENSE. Thanks! DonIago (talk) 17:33, 28 October 2024 (UTC)
