Hello.

Introduction to contentious topics

[edit]

You have recently edited a page related to the Arab–Israeli conflict, a topic designated as contentious. This is a brief introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.

A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia’s norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have an expanded level of powers and discretion in order to reduce disruption to the project.

Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:

Additionally, you must be logged-in, have 500 edits and an account age of 30 days, and are not allowed to make more than 1 revert within 24 hours on a page within this topic.

Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures, you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic here. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template.

I did not edit any wikipedia page concerning related to the Arab–Israeli conflict. This statement is flatly false, pure imagination.
I did make a formal-structural remark /in the talk section about one/, expressing doubt on structural grounds. This is 1000 miles from 'editing controversial pages'. I am still permitted to comment in that section.
The advisory above is a personal insult and in fact a lie, and also rests on a clear, and quite false, hypothesis about my politics, as a look at what I /HAVE/ edited would show. Isak Rubin (talk) 00:59, 5 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
You'll notice that your last edit to that talk page was reverted by someone else for the same reason that I quoted when reverting your initial comment. I suggest you read WP:ARBECR (especially the part that says: Non-extended-confirmed editors may use the "Talk:" namespace only to make edit requests related to articles within the topic area, provided they are not disruptive). M.Bitton (talk) 01:12, 5 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Bitton, you are simply making things up. I nowhere edited a wikipedia page. I commented on a talk page which has nothing whatsoever in common with a wikipedia page. I certainly said nothing even remotely strange. I am under concerted personal attack by you alone for absolutely nothing. I dont gaf about that dispute, unlike the battles of Mosul and Raqqa. Isak Rubin (talk) 01:19, 5 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
My edit request was very obviously that the page be folded into the general discussion of the gaza war. This is the content from one end to the other, the subdivision into micro "battles" is unhistorical and imaginary, as Mosul and Raqqa pages show. Isak Rubin (talk) 01:21, 5 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Ever single thing you have said about me is some strange projection. Isak Rubin (talk) 01:21, 5 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Your actions are genuinely criminal in character. I advise you to leave me alone and put me out of your mind; I am, if nothing else, not interesting enough. Isak Rubin (talk) 01:23, 5 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Given this comment and the above personal attack, I think I'll do you and myself a favour by pinging ScottishFinnishRadish (a very patient admin). M.Bitton (talk) 01:29, 5 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Brother, I am the one subject to personal attack. It came utterly from nowhere and had no basis and is wrong.. I don't care what authorities you bring in to destroy me, I didn't do anything but make and obvious recommendation on a talk page and you can see my interests are quite different. Isak Rubin (talk) 01:35, 5 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
It is incredible to me that you think /you/ are under attack. Isak Rubin (talk) 01:36, 5 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Chill it with the hostility, please. This is an edit to a Wikipedia page relating to the Arab/Israel conflict. Talk pages are covered by WP:ECR, which was linked to above and until you are extended-confirmed you cannot make any edits to any page that relate to the conflict with the exception of edit requests. Hopefully that clarifies things, and if you have further questions just let me know. ScottishFinnishRadish (talk) 01:36, 5 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
It does not clarify things at all. I have no interest in this topic, but I do have an interest in not being harrassed and publicly humiliated Isak Rubin (talk) 01:37, 5 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I have had about 30 accounts over the years editing this site and they always end with (Personal attack removed) emending my always serious and scholarly editing. I guess it's time to kill another account, but I would rather complete my rubin project. Isak Rubin (talk) 01:40, 5 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Just stop making personal attacks and sunny make any edits dealing with the Arab/Israel conflict and you can do that. ScottishFinnishRadish (talk) 01:43, 5 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I am the unique person under personal attack in this discussion. It came from nowhere and was groundless and it filled my inbox with the transparent acts of a vicious person. Isak Rubin (talk) 01:47, 5 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Don't call people it. This is your last warning for personal attacks. ScottishFinnishRadish (talk) 02:06, 5 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Call people what? I have been editing this site for 20 years, as a scholar, it always ends with (Personal attack removed). You can end this by leaving me alone, and in no other way. I will respond //exactly as I am here// to any further spam. I will under no conditions willingly permit you the last word. You can leave me to edit, or you can continue harrassing me. Isak Rubin (talk) 02:45, 5 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
no nothings is novel coinage ha Isak Rubin (talk) 02:45, 5 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
