Settlements?

[edit]

Hi, could you explain why you're changing the designation from municipality to settlement in numerous articles? You're not providing a source, nor adding any explanation in your edit summaries. Without doing so, these changes may all be reverted. 99.136.254.88 (talk) 01:48, 10 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

If you look closer you see that I replace the start of the template (the first line) with these two lines:

{ { Infobox settlement

< ! - - See Template:Infobox settlement for additional fields and descriptions - - >

The message "see Template:...." is directly taken from the template in question. What kind of source mentioning do you think of? Isabelassima (talk) 01:59, 10 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Perhaps it's not a controversial change if, as you say, it's merely the addition of an infobox. But numerous rapid changes without edit summaries or sources (are these localities settlements or municipalities?) sends up red flags. Thanks, 99.136.254.88 (talk) 02:31, 10 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I just wanted to provide easier access to the Infobox template. The next step will be to create a list of articles that miss the box completely. Isabelassima (talk) 02:35, 10 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Isabelassima, I see you are going to be adding infoboxes for PH municipalities. See Wikipedia talk:Tambayan Philippines#‎Municipalities with no Infoboxes for a partially filled-in template, that you can copy and paste. It already has a lot more predefined info, it has references for mayor/area/population sources, and using it will create more consistency. I suggest using it, because it would be much better to add fully completed boxes instead of empty templates. If you need any help, let me know. Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
