GA reviewing

[edit]

Please inspect Wikipedia:Good articles before reviewing for GA. There is no way that Literatur und Kritik can be considered to be a Good Article. Cheers! Wassupwestcoast (talk) 23:56, 15 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Your GAN assessment of Literatur und Kritik

[edit]

Hello, just a note to say that I have removed Literatur und Kritik, an article that you promoted to Good Article status, from the GA list. As I explained on the article talk page, the article obviously does not fulfill the Good Article criteria at this time and should not have been promoted; because it's pretty clean-cut, I did not add the article for reassessment. Because this was your first GA assessment, I understand that inexperience with the reviewing process can lead to confusion in discerning where an article falls underneath the assessment scale. In the future, you may want to garner experience in the reviewing department before jumping in to assess Good Article nominees. Best of luck, María (habla conmigo) 00:00, 16 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Linguistic review please

[edit]

{{helpme}} Native speakers of English (Standard American English) - please help to review the article on the Austrian writer Klaus Ebner. There is criticism about poor prose. Since all of the major contributors seem to be Austrian or German, such review cannot be made by the contribution team (as far as I know it). Please help to improve the language. Thank you very much in advance. --Irina Walter (talk) 18:28, 2 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Ebner's Parents

[edit]
I'm sorry I deleted his parents life dates.I wasn't sure what they were.Do you know when his mother was born?Because I don't think that was included before I deleted them. You can put them back up, but this time can you somehow make it more clear what they are?Because I wasn't sure, hence my deletion of them.

re: Your comments on writer Ebner

[edit]

Hi, Irina, I'll be glad to help with a copyedit. The article looks like it has already improved since I last reviewed it, and if you would like I can add further comments and suggestions on the talk page. As for the quote conundrum, I had something different in mind when I suggested examples of Ebner's work; at the moment the three main quotes seem to be merely plot description and offer little as far as critique goes. What is needed is criticism from notable literary scholars: perhaps a sample of a poem or a passage from a book and what different critics have to say about it, for example. Not plot details, but what it has to say about Ebner's writing technique, or how it compares to other writers, what makes it notable, etc. Furthermore, the "Critical interpretation" section does not seem to use any reliable, third party sources. I'm guessing the sources are Ebner's books? This may be construed as original research, since it is you, the editor, making the analysis. I hope this makes sense?
