[edit]Hello, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. This is just a note to let you know that I've moved the draft that you were working on to Draft:Low-volatility investing, from its old location at User:InvestorQuant/sandbox. This has been done because the Draft namespace is the preferred location for Articles for Creation submissions. Please feel free to continue to work on it there. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to ask me on my talk page. Thank you. Curb Safe Charmer (talk) 12:39, 25 July 2019 (UTC)
Dead links in References
[edit]Please don't delete this dead links. It leaves statements unsourced, while a dead link proves there was a source once. Instead find a archived version, replace them with a working reference from reliable sources or mark them with {{dead link}}. Thanks Gehenna1510 (talk) 19:52, 11 August 2019 (UTC)

[edit]Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), such as at Wikipedia:Teahouse, please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:
- Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment, or
- With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button located above the edit window.
This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.
Thank you. Drm310 🍁 (talk) 15:06, 12 August 2019 (UTC)

Missvain (talk) 17:34, 20 November 2019 (UTC)Deletion discussion about Eric Falkenstein
[edit]Hello, InvestorQuant, and welcome to Wikipedia. I edit here too, under the username Devonian Wombat, and I thank you for your contributions.
I wanted to let you know, however, that I've started a discussion about whether an article that you created, Eric Falkenstein, should be deleted, as I am not sure that it is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia in its current form. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Eric Falkenstein.
You might like to note that such discussions usually run for seven days and are not ballot-polls. And, our guide about effectively contributing to such discussions is worth a read. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.
If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Devonian Wombat}}
. And, don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~
. Thanks!

Ways to improve Pim van Vliet
[edit]Hello, InvestorQuant,
Thank you for creating Pim van Vliet.
I have tagged the page as having some issues to fix, as a part of our page curation process and note that:
The article could really do with some independent, significant coverage.
People are presumed notable if they have received significant coverage in multiple published secondary sources that are reliable, intellectually independent of each other, and independent of the subject.
Primary sources may be used to support content in an article, but they do not contribute toward proving the notability of a subject.
The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, leave a comment here and begin it with {{Re|Alexandermcnabb}}
. Remember to sign your reply with ~~~~
. For broader editing help, please visit the Teahouse.

- @Alexandermcnabb:Hi Alexandermcnabb, thanks for your suggestions. I've rewritten the page and have more and better and more links to secondary sources. This includes a recent discussion in the Washington Post, and a link to assemblee speakers. The first sentence is also rewritten and more neutral tone. The career section is also more describing with direct links. The total number of external links is now more than 30, hopefully this is not too much. Comparable websites of notable financial professionals are Cliff Asness - Wikipedia Eric Falkenstein - Wikipedia David C. Blitz - Wikipedia Robert Haugen - Wikipedia (US and NL). I think the page is now in a better shape, more up to date in more in line with the high standards of Wikipedia

[edit]Hi InvestorQuant! I noticed that you recently marked an edit as minor that may not have been. "Minor edit" has a very specific definition on Wikipedia—it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. Please see Help:Minor edit for more information. Thank you. Kj cheetham (talk) 09:41, 1 July 2023 (UTC)
- Thank you very much for pointing this out Kj. I’ll keep this in
- mind with future edits. Was the edit you are referring to OK? Or should i change? Thanks 2A02:A455:A276:1:44D4:9F60:8D46:6A02 (talk) 12:43, 2 July 2023 (UTC)
- It's not possible to change the "minor" status of past edits, but I only quickly looked at the contents of a couple of your edits and didn't notice any significant issues. Keep up the good work! -Kj cheetham (talk) 10:15, 6 July 2023 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Andrew Ang (investor)
[edit]Hello InvestorQuant,
I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Andrew Ang (investor) for deletion, because it seems to be promotional, rather than an encyclopedia article.
If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.
You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks!

- Hi Deb,
- That's unfortunately. I regularly contribute and edit Wiki Finance pages. Andrew Ang is a great academic and made significant contributions to the field prior to joining BlackRock. I'm not Andrew, also not working for BlackRock. I have a PhD in Finance and love Wikipedia and want to contribute (both by giving money) and time to improve our body of knowledge. I agree that the page, or any page should not be commercial. Andrew is widely regarded as a big contributor to the field of finance and 'too big' to ignore. That's why I created a page. I'm willing to take out anything which might look like commercial. Always happy to learn from other Wiki editors! InvestorQuant (talk) 09:48, 1 February 2024 (UTC)
- I did not make a copy of the page. Does this mean it is lost after deletion in case we want to move it back (in adjusted form if needed)? InvestorQuant (talk) 09:59, 1 February 2024 (UTC)
Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. Please note that Wikipedia is not the place for you to post your résumé, curriculum vitae, or similar material. It is also unlikely that anyone will ever see it, and anyone can alter the info you post. Please read this policy page describing what Wikipedia is not. Your résumé or CV will soon be deleted as this constitutes advertising, which is not allowed. You may also want to read our policies on conflicts of interest and autobiographies. Thank you. Deb (talk) 18:23, 31 January 2024 (UTC)
Welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that your username, "InvestorQuant", may not meet Wikipedia's username policy because it implies a vested interest in a specific company. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. As an alternative, you may ask for a change of username by completing the form at Special:GlobalRenameRequest, or you may simply create a new account for editing. Thank you. Deb (talk) 18:27, 31 January 2024 (UTC)
- Hi Deb, I've chosen the name 'Quant Investor' which is generic for investors who use academic rules-based insights for investing. It is widely used among investors, similarly to a 'fundamental investor' picking stocks or a 'macro investor' doing more top-down analysis. Thus not tied to any specific (asset management) company. I have a PhD in Finance, teach at universities and love Wikipedia and want to help improve the finance pages. Hope this gives some more color on the name. Happy to change/improve if needed!
