Somebody better update the Wiki guidelines then, because utilizing a user page was EXACTLY how they said trying out creating a Wiki article should be done. It's hard for an article to be promotional when it is not, nor ever has never been published, nor will be published in the form it is in on the user page (which also has no pointers). What you are saying renders the user page for learning Wiki absolutely useless, and encourages people to simply do "trial and error" on an live article instead instead of an obscure area. What has been done is not productive to keeping Wiki junk free, as a good faith effort was made to learn the formatting. And the "advertising" text was merely place-holder text which would have in no way been included in an article. So much for "assume good faith". Perhaps a re-read of policy on the admin's end might be in order. A mere suggestion.Investec (talk) 19:57, 6 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I'm sorry you got bad advice from our guidelines. I recommend using the appropriate place to "work on an article" which is your sandbox, not your userpage. (The guidelines say "userspace" which I agree is ambiguous. You can start your sandbox (once your block lifts of course) by clicking User:Investec/sandbox. Thanks for not swearing this time. (Edit conflict with Keeper) You have a sandbox, which is the designated place for experimenting and learning about editing Wikipedia. User pages are not the place for this, as you can see at WP:UP, and specifically WP:UP#NOT, which are the applicable policies for this issue. However, your reaction to the deletion, in which you repeatedly violate WP:CIVIL and WP:NPA with references to masturbation and colorful insults like "fuckwit", are why you find yourself blocked. As it is, I think BlackKite was rather charitable by limiting this block to a week. Tan | 39 20:07, 6 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
