Png version images

[edit]

I noticed that you updated a map of Chuvashia drawn by me into the png version:

Please, do not do this with my other maps. I will update them into png version in the next days (I already started to do this, but I do not have time to update all of them immediatelly, I need some time). Ok? PANONIAN (talk) 18:57, 31 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Holy crap! This is totally weird. Saw an edit of yours in the Brave Little Toaster's history (which sucks), and thought, how many invaderjim42s can there be... and lo and behold. So I'm gonna go be weirded out... and upload a picture for the article. :] --Keitei (talk) 13:20, 23 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Naggarok speech.ogg)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Naggarok speech.ogg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 22:21, 8 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:SSSV Bug1.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:SSSV Bug1.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 05:00, 24 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Megavolt.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Megavolt.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Project FMF (talk) 13:55, 24 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Image:Quackerjack.jpg

[edit]

I have tagged Image:Quackerjack.jpg as {{no rationale}}, because it does not provide a fair use rationale. If you believe the image to be acceptable for fair use according to Wikipedia policy, please provide a rationale explaining as much, in accordance with the fair use rationale guideline, on the image description page. Some examples can be found at Wikipedia:Use rationale examples. Please also consider using {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags/Non-free. Thank you. faith

[edit]

Have a bit more faith on wikipedia processes, man. About your comment at the ED discussion[1], notice that Burford Bulldogs was speedily deleted after you brought it to light on the debate. It had probably gone unnoticed until now. If you find more articles like that, you can bring them to AfD or tag the worst ones as a speedy deletion candidate, instead of simply giving up on the whole wikipedia because of them. --Enric Naval (talk) 05:09, 16 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I was a little hasty with a lot of the snap decisions and comments I made. Especially some of my more recent edits cussing out the entire Wikipedia community. There are some good people here, but that's easy to forget when I see all the idiocy that can occur when people communicate with each other over the internet. In truth, I still have faith that Wikipedia could become something truly great, I just don't see that happening within the next few years. Even though ED exposed me to a lot of the stupid and idiotic things some of the admins have done (and those things still irritate me), I still use Wikipedia for recreational reading and as a starting point for when I want to do serious research. Even though most teachers do not accept Wikipedia as a reliable source (with good reason, I hate to admit), I can still go to the Wiki article on what I need to research, then follow the cited sources or external links on the topic and use those. I take back every mean thing I said about Wikipedia as a community... I'll still be making productive page edits (mostly minor spelling fixes), and... fuck I need to stop rambling. TL;DR: I've not completely given up on Wikipedia. --InvaderJim42  (talk • contributions • contact) 23:03, 16 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]
Image Copyright problem
Image Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading Image:Lieutenant_Page.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 00:59, 21 October 2008 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Rockfang (talk) 00:59, 21 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

MfD nomination of Wikipedia:Wikipe-tan

[edit]

Wikipedia:Wikipe-tan, a page you substantially contributed to, has been nominated for deletion. Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/Wikipedia:Wikipe-tan (2nd nomination) and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You are free to edit the content of Wikipedia:Wikipe-tan during the discussion but should not remove the miscellany for deletion template from the top of the page; such a removal will not end the deletion discussion. Notification: changes to "Mark my edits as minor by default" preference

[edit]

Hello there. This is an automated message to tell you about the gradual phasing out of the preference entitled "Mark all edits minor by default", which you currently have (or very recently had) enabled.

On 13 March 2011, this preference was hidden from the user preferences screen as part of efforts to prevent its accidental misuse (consensus discussion). This had the effect of locking users in to their existing preference, which, in your case, was true. To complete the process, your preference will automatically be changed to false in the next few days. This does not require any intervention on your part and you will still be able to manually mark your edits as being 'minor'. The only thing that's changed is that you will no longer have them marked as minor by default.

For established users such as yourself there is a workaround available involving custom JavaScript. If you are familiar with the contents of WP:MINOR, and believe that it is still beneficial to the encyclopedia to have all your edits marked as such by default, then this discussion will give you the details you need to continue with this functionality indefinitely. If you have any problems, feel free to drop me a note.

Thank you for your understanding and happy editing :) Editing on behalf of User:Jarry1250, LivingBot (talk) 18:17, 14 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
