This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Anchorage Inn, and it appears to include material copied directly from http://www.anchorageinnvt.com/.

It is possible that the bot was mistaken and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. The article will be reviewed to determine if there are any copyright issues.

Speedy deletion nomination of Anchorage Inn

[edit]

Hello Interntrainee,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Anchorage Inn for deletion, because it seems to be inappropriate for a variety of reasons.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. —swpbT 19:43, 24 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Also, do not remove copyright violation tags from pages, especially ones you have created. This page clearly is a copyright violation. —swpbT 19:45, 24 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of Handy family

[edit]

The article Handy family has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Essay, seems to be original research, and not a notable topic.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. —Largo Plazo (talk) 18:30, 29 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

A tag has been placed on Handy family requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article or image appears to be a clear copyright infringement. This article or image appears to be a direct copy from http://www.sevendaysvt.com/vermont/from-peddling-to-prosperity-how-the-handy-clan-became-a-vermont-business-empire/Content?oid=2243367. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website or image but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Speedy deletion nomination of Handy family

[edit]

Hello Interntrainee,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Handy family for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly say why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. ubiquity (talk) 17:43, 2 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Handy family requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Handy Family

[edit]

Hi, Interntrainee. I see your article on the Handy Family was speedily deleted by administrator Jimfbleak (talk · contribs). I was one of the people who tagged it for speedy deletion, but when Largoplazo (talk · contribs) reverted my tag and provided a few references, I saw that the family was notable. That said, the article on its own didn't do anything to demonstrate that, so it is not surprising to me that someone else didn't do the digging that Largoplazo did, and re-tagged the article for speedy deletion, and that someone else deleted it.

The article, as it stood before it got deleted, is absolutely not ready for Wikipedia. You need to work on it in your user sandbox before you can re-publish it, or it will just get deleted again. However, if you do a few things to it, I think you can make it a valuable article. Here's what you need to do:

  1. Do your work in User:Interntrainee/Handy Family. This way no one will bother you until you move the article to the main space.
  2. Do not copy work from other places without IMMEDIATELY rewriting it in your own words. Wikipedia cannot afford copyright violations even in user pages. (I mention this because the article seems to have been deleted twice before for copyright violations.)
  3. Include as many reputable, independent sources as you can. Largoplazo suggested a few:
  4. Do NOT use sources from Facebook, local blogs, personal webpages, and so on. Read the Wikipedia policy on verifiability to find out which sources are good.
  5. Make sure it's clear in the first paragraph why the Handys are notable.
  6. Use wiki-links for any Handy or Handy concerns already in Wikipedia.
  7. Clean up the grammar and style to make the article look more like an encyclopedia article and less like a family blog.

If you ask him, Jimfbleak will probably move the old article to your user space, or if he won't, it can be restored from a cached copy in google if you act quickly enough. If you want, I can help with the grammar and style. Good luck! ubiquity (talk) 14:45, 3 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

It was recommended that you develop this article in your user space (at User:Interntrainee/Handy family). I see that you have chosen not to follow that advice (see Handy family). Unfortunately, you have not done anything to indicate the notability of this family, despite the presence of several sources that have been suggested to you. I recommend that you address this matter, or the article will likely be deleted once again. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 16:57, 11 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I've moved it to Draft:Handy family. Any attempt to side-step the Article for Creation process and move a 4th substandard version of the article to mainspace will likely result in the title being salted. Bazj (talk) 18:47, 11 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
