Not me

[edit]

I didn't edit the Salomon Kalou page. Never even opened it before just now to see what I was accused of. This is a dynamic IP address with BT Internet so sending out warnings will only be of limited success. Thanks. 86.134.90.245 18:17, 5 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use disputed for Image:ADVL.JPG

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:ADVL.JPG. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. effeietsanders 20:34, 13 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Notability of Benoit de Bonvoisin

[edit]

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Benoit de Bonvoisin, by Wikipedical (talk · contribs), another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Benoit de Bonvoisin seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Benoit de Bonvoisin, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. --Android Mouse Bot 2 12:24, 14 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Year of death for Wordsworth Donisthorpe

[edit]

I have a question about the year of death for Wordsworth Donisthorpe. A standard chess biographical reference (Gaige, Jeremy (1987), Chess Personalia, A Biobibliography, McFarland, p. 96, ISBN 0-7864-2353-6) gives his date of death as 30 January 1914, but the wikipedia article has 1913. Do you know which is correct? Gaige lists the death certificate as a source, but I should note that while Gaige is generally very accurate and authoritative for these details, there are occasional mistakes. Thanks for uploading Image:Logogrece n.jpg. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

Thanks for uploading File:Ahmed Aboutaleb.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

==Proposed deletion of Front de la Jeunesse (Belgium)==

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Front de la Jeunesse (Belgium), suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:

non notable para military organization

All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Unreferenced BLPs

[edit]

Hello Intangible! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 5 of the articles that you created are tagged as Unreferenced Biographies of Living Persons. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to insure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. if you were to bring these articles up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 6 article backlog. Once the articles are adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the list:

  1. Hans van Baalen - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL
  2. Daniel Féret - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL

Hi, I've deleted Daniel Féret as there were things in that article that can only be said if they are supported by a wp:reliable source. However getting it back should be easy, just put a note on this page with {{adminhelp}} and a reference that supports the most contentious bits of the article, and I'm sure the first admin to pop by will restore it for you. File permission problem with File:Brinkhorst.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Brinkhorst.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Kelly hi! 08:30, 22 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of European Independent Institute

[edit]

The article European Independent Institute has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

I couldn't verify that it meets WP:ORG, WP:GNG or any other part of WP:NOTABILITY

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
