Hurricane pages.
[edit]I have a question. Does a hurricane have to be damaging enough to have a page? Does it depend on rarity or damage is basically what I'm asking because some hurricanes don't have their own separate page. I would like to learn more about this. - Insendieum Insendieum (talk) 19:05, 24 January 2023 (UTC)

Problems with upload of File:High resolution wallpaper background ID 77700326263.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:High resolution wallpaper background ID 77700326263.jpg. You don't seem to have said where the image came from, who created it, or what the copyright status is. We require this information to verify that the image is legally usable on Wikipedia, and because most image licenses require giving credit to the image's creator.
To add this information, click on this link, then click the "Edit" tab at the top of the page and add the information to the image's description. If you need help, post your question on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions.

Better source request for File:GiveDirectly-Google-Storm-Damage-Mapping-Hurricane-Ian-Business-1428812529.webp
[edit]Thanks for your upload to Wikipedia:
You provided a source, but it is difficult for other users to examine the copyright status of the image because the source is incomplete or generic. Please consider clarifying the exact source so that the copyright status may be checked more easily. It is best to specify the exact source (such as the web page, or printed document) where you found the image, rather than only giving the source domain, search engine, pinboard, aggregator, or the direct/bare URL of the image file itself. Please update the image description with a URL that will be more helpful to other users in determining the copyright status.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source in a complete manner. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. If you have any questions please ask them at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you. – The Grid (talk) 05:04, 3 February 2023 (UTC)

File copyright problem with File:GiveDirectly-Google-Storm-Damage-Mapping-Hurricane-Ian-Business-1428812529.webp
[edit]Thank you for uploading File:GiveDirectly-Google-Storm-Damage-Mapping-Hurricane-Ian-Business-1428812529.webp. However, it is currently missing information on its copyright and licensing status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can verify that it has an acceptable license status and a verifiable source. Please add this information by editing the image description page. You may refer to the image use policy to learn what files you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. The page on copyright tags may help you to find the correct tag to use for your file. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.
Please also check any other files you may have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Salavat (talk) 03:07, 12 February 2023 (UTC)
Rina
[edit]Btw what Mario was talking about was here:
Tropical Storm Philippe Discussion Number 21 NWS National Hurricane Center Miami FL AL172023 1100 AM AST Thu Sep 28 2023
[...] The initial motion is highly uncertain since the storm is elongated and confidence in the initial position is very low. The track forecast is challenging, in part due to Philippe's close proximity to newly formed Tropical Storm Rina. In the short term, a slow southwestward motion seems likely as Philippe moves in weak steering currents between a mid- to upper-level trough to its northeast and Rina to its east-southeast. By late in the weekend, a mid-level ridge is anticipated to build over the subtropical central Atlantic, and that feature should cause Philippe to turn sharply northward east of the northern Leeward Islands. The NHC track forecast has been adjusted to the south for the first couple of days, but lies to the east of the previous forecast at days 4 and 5. This prediction is closest to the ECMWF model.
Not that it matters or anything but I thought you should at least know what he was talking about. Noah, AATalk 15:17, 28 September 2023 (UTC)
- Ooh, I was looking through the discussion page and didnt see that, so when I saw the advisory, I reverted my edit. Regardless, thank you Insendieum (talk) 15:20, 28 September 2023 (UTC)

Hurricane Ian Headings
[edit]I saw your edits on Hurricane Ian. You promoted the subheadings of impacts to Florida to higher than the main heading. I restored the revision before you started editing. If you have a specific reason you did it, please tell me. ✶Mitch199811✶ 23:46, 13 December 2023 (UTC)
- The subheadings were unbolded so I tried bolding them but I think I did it like

Robert McClenon (talk) 03:55, 19 August 2024 (UTC)Does anyone know why Pacific or Atlantic hurricanes never peak at 135 mph?
[edit]Something Ive noticed lately is that there has never been a pacific or atlantic hurricane that has peaked at 135 mph. Does anyone know why this is true? 🍙🌀CycloneIns✉ 00:11, 27 September 2024 (UTC)
- @CycloneIns, that may be because of the NHC using knots and rounding the intensities to mph. I also notice that no hurricane is ever assigned an intensity of 95 mph. A 90 mph hurricane goes straight up to 100 mph. Hurricane Clyde 🌀my talk page! 06:44, 12 October 2024 (UTC)

Trouted
[edit]Sorry, Frost. I'm not even upset over your revision right now. I bear no grudge against anyone. It's just that the web feels so, so boundless right now.
Across all namespaces and categories of Wikipedia, I alone am the Vandilizer.
The beauty of having a manipulation method passed down through obscure IRC channels and archived forum posts is that you learn every subtle way to bypass scrutiny.
The downside? Once information about these exploits surfaces, it spreads like wildfire through the Wikipedia guidelines.
You were part of the Moderation Team, weren’t you? That’s why you’re so familiar with rollback functions and the intricacies of page protection.
But even among sysops and admins, only a few truly understand the depths of what I do.
I don't just make basic edits. No, I manipulate the edit summaries, hide my revisions in disambiguation pages, use sockpuppets to cover my tracks, and subtly alter high-traffic templates so the changes ripple across thousands of articles.
You take minor, unnoticed changes—like swapping citations or slightly altering the meaning of a sentence—then stack those edits under the radar, making them nearly impossible to revert without dedicated oversight.
The coup de grâce? Using protected pages and revision histories to bury anything suspicious deep within the code, leaving the Moderation Team scrambling to clean up.

The page 2025 Pacific typhoon season has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This was done under section R2 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it was a redirect from the article namespace to a different namespace except the Category, Template, Wikipedia, Help, or Portal namespaces.
Please do not recreate the material without addressing these concerns, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.
